The Applied Skills You Will BuildMethod Mastery You Can Use at Work

This section shows the skills covered in PRINCE2 Practitioner training: how to apply, adapt and tailor the method across its nine syllabus areas. By the end you can justify tailoring decisions and manage a project from initiation to closure using the PRINCE2 7th Edition.

    Apply the Seven PRINCE2 Principles

Apply the seven universal PRINCE2 principles, such as continued business justification and manage by exception, to specific project scenarios, and spot where a project is violating a principle so you can recommend a fix. This is the skills-covered foundation of the Practitioner exam.

    Tailor the Seven PRINCE2 Practices

Work with the Business Case, Organising, Plans, Quality, Risk, Issues and Progress practices in realistic contexts. Review a business case, build product-based plans, assess risks and manage change so each practice fits the size and complexity of the project.

Run the Seven Processes End to End

Lead a project from Starting Up and Initiating through Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery and Closing. Identify the activities, management products and responsibilities in each process and recognise process failures in a given scenario.

    Lead People and Define Roles

Apply the People capability introduced in the PRINCE2 7th Edition: select leadership styles, manage team dynamics and stakeholder engagement, and design the project board and management team structure for the organisation in front of you.

Embed Sustainability, ESG and Digital Data

Build ESG and sustainability considerations into the business case and plans, and apply digital tools and data management to keep projects current. These reflect the newer syllabus areas of the current edition.

    Master Open-Book Exam Technique

Navigate the Managing Successful Projects manual quickly under timed conditions, tailor management products and communication methods to context, and practise the scenario-based, assertion-reason question styles the exam uses.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Yes. PRINCE2 Practitioner validates that you can apply and tailor a structured project method, which employers in Zimbabwe's mining, banking, telecoms and donor-funded sectors increasingly ask for. Senior project roles such as Programme Manager average around USD 55,000 a year in Harare, and certified practitioners stand out in a market short on advanced-certified talent.

    General

Is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification worth it in Zimbabwe?

What is PRINCE2 Practitioner and who is it for?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is the advanced level of the PRINCE2 scheme, owned and examined by PeopleCert. It validates your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 principles, practices and processes to real project scenarios. It is designed for practising and aspiring project managers, Foundation holders advancing further, and PMP or CAPM holders who need PRINCE2.

Which edition of PRINCE2 does the training cover?

The training covers the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), the current version published by PeopleCert and AXELOS. It introduces the People capability, renames Themes to Practices, and adds sustainability, ESG and digital data management alongside the seven principles, practices and processes.

Do I need PRINCE2 Foundation before Practitioner?

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation is the standard prerequisite for Practitioner. PeopleCert also accepts certain equivalents such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. If you do not yet hold Foundation, the most direct route is to complete it before attending Practitioner training.

How long is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification valid?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is valid for three years. You can renew by retaking and passing the Practitioner exam, by completing CPD through a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or by passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

    Pricing

What is included in the PRINCE2 Practitioner course fee?

The training fee typically includes accredited courseware aligned to the PRINCE2 7 syllabus, scenario-based practice, mock exams, open-book technique coaching, learner support and a course completion certificate. The PeopleCert exam fee is usually quoted separately. Request a quote for the current inclusions.

How much does PRINCE2 Practitioner training cost in Zimbabwe?

Pricing depends on the format you choose, such as live virtual or corporate group training, and whether the exam is bundled. Fees are available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote for individuals or teams in Zimbabwe.

Is the PeopleCert exam fee included in the price?

The exam fee is billed by PeopleCert and varies by region and channel, so it is usually quoted separately from training. We can arrange training and exam together where you prefer a single package. Ask for a quote to confirm what applies to you.

Do you offer group or corporate rates for teams?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project offices, PMOs and delivery teams. Contact us for a group quote tailored to your organisation in Zimbabwe.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits your enrolment.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The PRINCE2 Practitioner exam is open book, so the Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted. It uses scenario-based objective questions, including multiple choice, matching, sequence and assertion-reason formats, requiring analysis rather than simple recall.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) to complete it. It is based on the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus.

What is the passing score for PRINCE2 Practitioner?

You need 60% to pass, which is 42 out of 70 marks. Because it is open book and scenario-based, both deep method knowledge and efficient manual navigation matter.

Where can I take the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam in Zimbabwe?

You can sit the exam online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctoring system, available 24/7, or at an authorised PeopleCert test centre. The exam is often arranged as part of a training and exam package.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You can resit the PeopleCert exam if needed. Our training includes mock exams, scenario practice and open-book technique coaching to prepare you thoroughly, and we can guide you on rebooking. Confirm the current resit policy with PeopleCert before you apply.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take PRINCE2 Practitioner training?

Practitioner is an advanced course, so you should hold PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent first. If you are new to PRINCE2, we can guide you to complete Foundation before Practitioner so you are ready to apply the method in scenarios.

What topics does the PRINCE2 Practitioner syllabus cover?

The training covers nine syllabus areas: PRINCE2 principles, practices and processes, key roles and responsibilities, people management and collaboration, sustainability and ESG, digital and data management, effective communication, and tailoring to your needs.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes scenario-based practice questions, full-length mock exams and knowledge checks mapped to the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PRINCE2 syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the current PeopleCert PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus, including the People capability and the sustainability and digital additions.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate. The PRINCE2 Practitioner credential itself is awarded by PeopleCert once you pass the exam.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?
