Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is PMI's entry-level credential that proves your understanding of project fundamentals, terminology and processes. It is designed for students, recent graduates, career changers and project team members with little or no project experience.

    General

What is the CAPM certification and who is it for?

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is PMI's entry-level credential that proves your understanding of project fundamentals, terminology and processes. It is designed for students, recent graduates, career changers and project team members with little or no project experience.

Is the CAPM worth it for someone starting out in Zimbabwe?

Yes. As a globally recognised PMI credential, CAPM helps new professionals stand out for project coordinator, officer and administrator roles across mining, banking, telecoms and the development sector. Project management roles in Zimbabwe average around US$24,000 a year, and the credential signals commitment to the profession.

Do I need project experience to take the CAPM?

No. CAPM is the only PMI practitioner credential that requires no project work experience. You need a secondary degree, such as a high school diploma or global equivalent, plus 23 hours of project management education, which this training provides.

How does the CAPM differ from the PMP?

CAPM is the entry-level credential requiring only 23 hours of project management education and no experience. PMP is the advanced credential requiring months of leading projects. CAPM is the natural first step for those building toward PMP eligibility later.

How long is the CAPM valid and how do I renew it?

CAPM is valid for three years. Unlike PMP, you renew it by retaking and passing the CAPM exam within the three-year cycle, not by earning PDUs. No PDU accumulation is required for CAPM.

    Is the CAPM recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, CAPM is recognised in over 200 countries. Employers accept it as a credible entry-level project management qualification and a signal of your commitment to the profession.

    Pricing

How much does CAPM training cost in Zimbabwe?

Training fees vary by format and are available on request. The fee covers the instructor-led course, courseware and exam-prep resources. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD and is not part of the training price. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the CAPM course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam-readiness guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate with 24 contact hours that satisfy the education requirement.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the CAPM exam fee separately in USD. For reference, it is around USD 225 for PMI members and USD 300 for non-members; verify current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Zimbabwe. Contact us for a tailored quote for your organisation.
