Market Forces Driving PMP Demand in Zimbabwe

    Delivering Under Currency Volatility

Zimbabwe's multi-currency environment makes budgeting and forecasting hard. Employers need project managers who can control cost, manage risk and protect value under uncertainty.

PMP builds cost, risk and stakeholder discipline

    Scarce Certified Project Talent

The local talent pool is deep in experience but thin in globally certified project managers, so PMP holders are rare and sought after by mining, banking and telecoms employers.

PMP makes certified project leaders stand out

    Donor Compliance and Reporting

Zimbabwe's large NGO and donor-funded sector demands tight scope, budget and reporting discipline. Funders increasingly favour project managers with a recognised credential.

PMP builds governance and reporting skills

    Mining Capital Project Complexity

Lithium, gold and PGM expansions run large, high-value capital projects that need portfolio-grade planning, procurement and risk management to deliver on schedule.

PMP builds predictive and hybrid delivery skills

    Digital Transformation in Banking

Banks and fintechs are upgrading core systems and mobile-money platforms, driving demand for managers fluent in agile and hybrid approaches, not just traditional plans.

PMP builds agile and hybrid delivery skills

    Infrastructure Rehabilitation Backlog

Power, roads and water programmes need coordinated, disciplined delivery across many contractors, exactly the capability a structured project management standard develops.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and suits experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals.

    General

What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and suits experienced project managers, team leads and delivery professionals.

Is the PMP worth it in Zimbabwe?

Yes. The PMP is recognised by mining, banking, telecoms and donor-funded employers in Zimbabwe and is widely preferred for senior roles. Programme Manager roles in Harare average around US$61,000 a year, and certified project leaders are in short supply. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Is the PMP recognised internationally?

Yes. The PMP is recognised in over 200 countries and is regarded as the global standard of project management certification. It is a portable credential that travels with you across sectors and borders, which matters in Zimbabwe's export-driven, donor-funded economy.

What are the prerequisites for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which this training provides.

How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle and pay the renewal fee through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    Pricing

How much does PMP training cost in Zimbabwe?

PMP training fees vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Live virtual and onsite options are available, and the PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current pricing and upcoming batches.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, the 35 contact hours of project management education, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, application guidance, learner support and a course completion certificate.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD, currently around US$405 for members and US$555 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership (about US$139 a year) lowers the exam fee and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for project teams, PMOs and departments. Ask about corporate or group pricing and we will prepare a tailored quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam is a closed-book test with 180 questions using multiple formats, including multiple-choice, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank. It is scenario-based and delivered online or at a test centre through Pearson VUE.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. Answering steadily and managing time across the sections is an important part of preparation.

What domains does the latest PMP exam cover?

The current exam, aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

Where can I take the PMP exam in Zimbabwe?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or the office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility window.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, feedback and revision support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PMP training?

The training covers the five performance domains of the current exam: project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based methods, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategy, and stakeholder engagement and communication, plus exam strategy and application support.

Does the PMP course cover agile?

Yes. Agile and hybrid delivery make up a large share of the exam, and the 8th edition exam includes a dedicated Agile Frameworks domain (27%). You cover Scrum, Kanban, Lean and hybrid approaches alongside predictive methods.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, practice questions, chapter-wise quizzes, flashcards and downloadable templates to support your study.

Are there mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and a large bank of practice questions mapped to the 180-question exam, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness before test day.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMP edition?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, the standard on which the latest exam is based, so you prepare against what PMI tests today.

    Enrollment

What do I need to enrol in the PMP training?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires a degree with 36 months of leading projects, or a secondary diploma with 60 months, plus 35 contact hours of project management education, which the course provides.

How do I enrol in the PMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, onsite classroom training, and customised corporate group training. Live online sessions let you learn from anywhere in Zimbabwe while keeping real-time trainer interaction.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change that fits your schedule.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
