    What is the format of the PgMP exam?

    The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It covers five performance domains and is delivered online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

    The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats.

    What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

    Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management carries the greatest weight.

    What is the PgMP panel review?

    The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is mandatory alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential. We help you prepare for it.

    What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

    Do I need prior experience to take PgMP training?

    Anyone can enrol in the training, but PgMP is a senior credential. To sit the exam PMI requires substantial programme management experience under Set A, B or C, plus project management experience or an active PMP. The training builds on that experience.

    The training covers the five PgMP domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus PMI application guidance, panel-review preparation and exam strategy.

    What are the PgMP eligibility requirements?

    PMI offers three sets. Set A: secondary diploma plus four years project management experience or a PMP, and seven years programme experience. Set B and C: a degree plus four years project experience or a PMP, and four or three years programme experience, all within 15 years.
