Why PRINCE2 Skills Are in Demand Across Norway

    Megaproject Delivery on the Shelf

With around kr 249 billion set for continental-shelf investment in 2026, operators run huge, high-risk programmes that demand the business case control and stage governance PRINCE2 is built to provide.

PRINCE2 builds stage control and governance skills

    Public Sector Governance Pressure

Norwegian public bodies increasingly expect structured, documented delivery with clear decision logs and exception handling. PRINCE2's principle-led method fits regulated, board-accountable environments.

    PRINCE2 supports structured, auditable delivery

    Energy Transition Complexity

Offshore wind, electrification and decarbonisation programmes bring new suppliers, uncertainty and scale, requiring project leaders who can tailor governance and manage risk across shifting priorities.

PRINCE2 builds risk and tailoring capability

    Digital Transformation Demand

Banks, insurers and telecom operators fund core-system and digital change, but weak governance causes overruns. Certified project managers who control scope and change are hired to close that gap.

PRINCE2 brings control to change programmes

    Infrastructure Programme Scale

National rail and road programmes coordinate many concurrent projects and stakeholders, needing product-based planning and progress control to keep large public investments on track.

PRINCE2 builds planning and coordination skills

    Certified Project Talent Shortage

Norway has a deep delivery workforce but fewer professionals credentialed in a recognised method. Holding both PRINCE2 levels makes candidates stand out for senior, governance-focused roles.

PRINCE2 makes certified leaders stand out

PRINCE2 is more than a certificate. It is a career multiplier for project professionals who can govern delivery at scale. Join Norway's project leaders who bring structure to complex programmes. Start your journey today.

    After PRINCE2

    After PRINCE2

Eligible for governed project roles across energy, public sector, finance and infrastructure

    After PRINCE2

    You earn PRINCE2

    Before

Delivery experience without a recognised project management method to show for it

    Now you have

Two recognised PRINCE2 credentials awarded by PeopleCert and valued across Europe

    Before

Limited progression when roles ask for a certified, method-based candidate

    Now you have

A clear route from project coordinator into project manager and senior roles

Comfortable delivering tasks, but light on structured project governance

    Now you have

    Now you have

A transferable credential that travels across sectors and international markets

    General

Is PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner worth it in Norway?

Yes. PRINCE2 is widely used across Norway's energy, public sector, finance and technology organisations that run structured, governed projects. Project managers in Norway average around kr 820,000 a year, with senior roles reaching well beyond kr 1,000,000, and both credentials help you compete for those roles.

What is PRINCE2 and which edition does the training cover?

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method covering seven principles, People capability, seven practices and seven processes. This training covers the current PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023), published by PeopleCert and AXELOS and aligned to the PRINCE2 7 Managing Successful Projects manual.

Who governs and awards the PRINCE2 certification?

PRINCE2 was created and developed by AXELOS. PeopleCert acquired AXELOS in 2021 and is now the owner, publisher and examination body for all PRINCE2 qualifications. Both the Foundation and Practitioner exams are delivered by PeopleCert.

Who should take this combined PRINCE2 course?

It suits aspiring and practising project managers, project coordinators, and team members working in PRINCE2 environments. Foundation is open to anyone new to the method, while Practitioner is for those who want to apply and tailor PRINCE2 on real projects.

How long are the PRINCE2 certifications valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. Foundation is renewed by earning 60 CPD points per cycle, and Practitioner by retaking the exam, completing CPD via a MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher PRINCE2 qualification. Verify current renewal rules at peoplecert.org.

    Is PRINCE2 recognised internationally?

Yes. PRINCE2 is recognised globally, with particular strength in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Commonwealth markets. Over one million PRINCE2 certificates have been issued worldwide, making it a highly transferable credential for professionals in Norway and beyond.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Norway?

Fees vary by format, whether you choose live online or corporate group training, and whether exam vouchers are bundled. Pricing is quoted locally on request. Request a quote and a learning advisor will share current options for your chosen format.

What is included in the PRINCE2 course fee?

The training fee typically includes accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, instructor-led sessions, practice questions and mock exams, study resources and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Confirm whether the Foundation and Practitioner exam vouchers are included when you enquire.

Are the exam fees included in the training price?

Exam fees are set by PeopleCert and can be bundled with training or purchased separately, depending on the package. PeopleCert pricing varies by region and channel, so we confirm the current exam voucher cost when you request a quote.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for delivery teams, PMOs and departments across Norway. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions in a closed-book format, lasting 60 minutes. The pass mark is 60%, or 36 out of 60 correct. It has no prerequisites and tests your knowledge of the PRINCE2 7 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, lasting 150 minutes. It is open book, so the PRINCE2 manual is permitted, and is scenario based. The pass mark is 60%, or 42 out of 70 marks.

What are the prerequisites for the Practitioner exam?

You must hold PRINCE2 Foundation, or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A to D. In the combined programme you sit Foundation first, which qualifies you to take Practitioner. Foundation itself has no prerequisites.

How and where do I sit the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online through the OnVUE proctored system available 24/7 or at an authorised test centre. This lets you take the exams from home or office in Norway, or at a nearby centre.

What happens if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can resit the exam that you did not pass. Resit fees and policies are set by PeopleCert, and selected training packages include retake support to help you prepare again. Ask a learning advisor about the retake options included in your plan.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 training cover?

The course covers the full PRINCE2 7 method: the seven principles, the People capability, the seven practices (business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress) and the seven processes, plus tailoring the method to different project contexts.

Can a beginner take this course without experience?

Yes. Foundation has no formal prerequisites and suits people new to project management or to PRINCE2. The training builds from the basics, so beginners gain the vocabulary and principles before moving on to applying and tailoring the method at Practitioner level.

How is the combined programme structured?

The combined programme is typically delivered over four days, around 32 total training hours. Foundation content is usually covered first with its exam, followed by Practitioner content and its exam. Scheduling can be adjusted for corporate and live online cohorts.

What learning resources and practice materials are provided?

You receive accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, and study aids such as templates and quizzes. These help you rehearse the closed-book Foundation format and the open-book, scenario-based Practitioner format.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PRINCE2 syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PRINCE2 7 Foundation and Practitioner syllabuses and the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) Managing Successful Projects manual, so you study the current method, including the People capability and integrated agile and sustainability guidance.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website or by speaking with an advisor. Choose your format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to pick a start date.

What training formats are available in Norway?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions, and customised corporate group training. This lets professionals and teams across Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger and the rest of Norway learn in the format that fits their schedule.

Do I need any prior qualification to enrol?

No prior qualification is needed to enrol in the training or to sit Foundation. To take the Practitioner exam you need PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent, which the combined programme provides when you pass Foundation first.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change to your enrolment.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment before you book.
