What Is Driving PRINCE2 Demand Across Norway

    Public-Sector Governance Standard

Norwegian government agencies and municipalities expect structured, auditable project delivery. PRINCE2 gives teams the stages, business cases and controls that public programmes demand.

    PRINCE2 builds structured governance skills

    Energy-Transition Programme Scale

Offshore wind, electrification and oil-and-gas projects run large, high-risk portfolios. Employers need managers who can govern stages, tolerances and risk at scale, the core of PRINCE2 7.

PRINCE2 builds stage and risk control skills

    Strategy-To-Delivery Gap

Boards fund digital-transformation programmes, but value leaks when delivery is not governed. Certified practitioners close the gap with product-based planning and managed stages.

    PRINCE2 builds product-based planning skills

    Project Talent and Method Fluency

Oslo's market is deep in delivery talent but short on professionals fluent in a recognised method. Holding both PRINCE2 levels makes certified managers stand out to employers.

PRINCE2 makes certified managers stand out

    Hybrid and Agile Tailoring

Teams blend structured governance with agile delivery. PRINCE2 7 tailoring lets managers apply the method to waterfall, agile and hybrid projects without losing control.

    PRINCE2 builds tailoring capability

    Cross-Border and Regulated Delivery

Norwegian firms deliver across the Nordics and the EU under regulated frameworks. A globally recognised method gives distributed teams a common governance language.

Passed over for structured-delivery roles that prefer PRINCE2

    After PRINCE2

Eligible for governed project and PMO roles across public sector, energy and consulting

    Now you have

Two globally recognised PRINCE2 credentials from AXELOS and PeopleCert

    Before

You deliver by instinct, with no shared governance framework

    Now you have

A structured method of principles, practices and processes you can apply on any project

    Before

Recognition fades when you change employer or sector

    Now you have

A portable qualification valued across Norway, the Nordics and worldwide

    Before

Limited standing for PMO and senior delivery roles

    Now you have

A clear route into project manager, programme and PMO positions

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method governed by AXELOS and examined by PeopleCert. The combined certification takes you across both levels, Foundation and Practitioner, on the current PRINCE2 7 edition released in 2023.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method governed by AXELOS and examined by PeopleCert. The combined certification takes you across both levels, Foundation and Practitioner, on the current PRINCE2 7 edition released in 2023.

Is PRINCE2 worth it for a project career in Oslo?

Yes. PRINCE2 is the default project governance language across Norway's public sector, energy and consulting employers, and project manager roles in Oslo average around kr 800,000 a year. Certified practitioners qualify for structured delivery and PMO roles.

Who should take this PRINCE2 course?

It suits aspiring and practising project managers, project team members, PMO staff, and PMP or CAPM holders who want to add a recognised method. Foundation has no prerequisites, so beginners can start here.

What is the difference between the Foundation and Practitioner levels?

Foundation validates that you understand the PRINCE2 method well enough to work in a PRINCE2 environment. Practitioner validates your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2 to real project scenarios, so it sits above Foundation.

How long is the PRINCE2 certification valid?

Both PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner are valid for three years. You can maintain them through continuing professional development or by re-examination, per PeopleCert policy.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 training cost in Oslo?

Course fees are quoted in Norwegian kroner and vary by format and package, so exact pricing is available on request. The fee typically covers accredited courseware, practice tests and exam preparation. Request a quote for the option that suits you.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee usually includes PeopleCert and AXELOS aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates and learner support, along with a course completion certificate.

Are the exam fees included in the price?

Exam fees are set and billed by PeopleCert and may be bundled or purchased separately depending on your package. Confirm what your enrolment includes; details are available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for a clear breakdown.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for delivery teams, PMOs and departments. Contact us for a tailored quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that works for you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 multiple-choice questions, lasts 60 minutes and is closed book. The pass mark is 60 percent, which is 36 out of 60 correct. It tests your knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 method.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, lasts 150 minutes and is open book, with the Managing Successful Projects manual permitted. The pass mark is 60 percent, which is 42 out of 70 marks.

Where can I sit the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams are delivered by PeopleCert, either online through their proctoring system, available 24 hours a day, or at an authorised test centre. They are usually arranged as part of your training package.

Do I need Foundation before I sit Practitioner?

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation is required before the Practitioner exam, and certain equivalents such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA levels are also accepted. The combined programme covers both levels in sequence.

What happens if I do not pass an exam first time?

You can resit under PeopleCert's re-examination policy, and our trainers provide preparation and revision support to help you succeed. Confirm current resit terms with your learning advisor.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 course cover?

The course covers the seven PRINCE2 principles, the People capability, the seven practices (business case, organising, plans, quality, risk, issues and progress) and the seven processes, along with tailoring and exam strategy.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. PRINCE2 Foundation has no formal prerequisites, so the programme is suitable for those new to project management. The training builds knowledge step by step before moving into the applied Practitioner content.

Does the course cover agile and hybrid delivery?

Yes. PRINCE2 7 tailoring guidance shows how to apply the method to waterfall, agile and hybrid projects, so you learn to adjust plans, registers and reports to your delivery approach and project context.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you find weak areas and build readiness for both exams.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PRINCE2 edition?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PRINCE2 7, the 7th edition published by PeopleCert and AXELOS in 2023, and to the PRINCE2 7 Foundation and Practitioner syllabuses.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PRINCE2 course in Oslo?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions, self-paced e-learning and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

Are there any prerequisites to enrol?

There are no prerequisites to enrol or to take the Foundation exam. To sit the Practitioner exam you need PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent, which the combined programme covers.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training twice. Contact our support team to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
