    Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in the Netherlands?

    Yes. With Dutch employers facing nitrogen permitting, grid congestion and a housing shortfall, certified construction leaders are in demand.     Is a PMP required before taking the PMI-CP?

    No. A PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education.     How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

    What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

    The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats, based on the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline. You take it online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

    The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. Questions are scenario-based and drawn from the four ECO domains.

    What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

    The exam covers four domains from the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline: Contracts Management at 50%, Stakeholder Engagement at 30%, Strategy and Scope Management at 15%, and Project Governance at 5%. Contracts Management is the largest and most heavily weighted domain.

    What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

    PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score, so no fixed percentage is published. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. Aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

    How many attempts do I get, and can I retake the exam?

    You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from the date your application is approved. If you do not pass, re-examination fees apply for the second and third attempts, so verify current amounts at pmi.org.

    What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

    Before applying, you must complete four self-paced modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total.

    Do I need construction experience to take the exam?

    Yes. To sit the exam, PMI requires one of three experience sets, ranging from 24 to 60 months of construction project management experience within the past 10 years, depending on your education, plus 35 contact hours of project management education and the four mandatory modules.

    Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

    Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which support your PMI-CP application and certification renewal.
