What Your Team Gains from RCA TrainingSkills That Prevent Problems Recurring

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Root cause analysis training helps quality, operations and engineering professionals move from constant firefighting to permanent problem solving. You learn a full toolkit of RCA methods and, just as importantly, when to use each one. Whether you work in manufacturing, healthcare, IT or services, the course builds capability that employers in Mauritius value: the ability to find why a problem happened and stop it recurring.

If you are the person others turn to when something goes wrong, RCA training gives you a structured, defensible way to investigate and resolve issues. You finish able to lead an investigation, complete an 8D report and prove your corrective actions work.

    • Investigate defects, incidents and failures with a structured, repeatable method
    • Apply the right RCA tool, from the 5 Whys to Fault Tree Analysis, to each problem
    • Facilitate Fishbone and 8D problem-solving sessions with cross-functional teams

    • Develop corrective actions that hold and verify they actually work
    • Support ISO 9001:2015 Clause 10.2 corrective action in your organisation
    • Build credibility as the person who stops problems coming back
    • Apply your new skills immediately to real problems at work
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

RCA group training equips your teams with one consistent, structured approach to investigating and eliminating problems. Instead of ad hoc fixes, your organisation builds a disciplined corrective action culture. The training can be delivered for quality departments, production teams or cross-functional improvement groups, using your real defects and incidents as live case studies.

For Mauritian manufacturers, healthcare providers and service organisations under pressure to cut waste and meet quality standards, RCA training creates measurable value: fewer recurring problems, stronger audit readiness and faster, better-documented corrective action.

    • Standardises problem solving across quality, operations and engineering teams
    • Reduces repeat defects, rework, downtime and customer complaints
    • Strengthens ISO 9001 corrective action and CAPA compliance
    • Builds a shared RCA language across sites and departments
    • Turns costly incidents into documented, lasting improvements
    • Delivered onsite or live virtual around your production schedule
    • Uses your own real problems as training case studies
    • Develops in-house facilitators who can lead future investigations

Who Hires Problem-Solving Talent in Mauritius?Your RCA Career Outlook

Root cause analysis is one of the most transferable problem-solving skills in the Mauritian job market. Manufacturers, medical device and pharma makers, food processors, hospitals and IT services all need people who can investigate failures and prevent them recurring. As exporters pursue ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification and adopt Lean improvement, employers increasingly value quality engineers, CI specialists and operations leaders who can run structured RCA. Investing in RCA training is one of the clearest ways to build that capability. Here is what the local market is telling us.

Why Problem-Solving Skills Are in Demand in Mauritius

    Export Quality Standards

Mauritian manufacturers export 1,500 product lines to over 115 countries, where a single recurring defect can cost a contract. Structured RCA keeps quality consistent and buyers confident.

    RCA keeps export quality consistent

    ISO 9001 Corrective Action

ISO 9001:2015 Clause 10.2 requires firms to find the causes of nonconformities and prevent recurrence. Many local organisations lack a tool-based RCA method to satisfy this in audits.

RCA meets Clause 10.2 in audits

    Rise of Regulated Manufacturing

As Mauritius grows its medical device and pharmaceutical sectors under ISO 13485 and CAPA rules, rigorous root cause investigation becomes a regulatory expectation, not a nice-to-have.

    RCA underpins CAPA compliance

    Repeat Defects and Rework

Margin pressure in textiles, food and manufacturing makes recurring defects, rework and downtime expensive. RCA targets the root cause so problems are solved once, not again and again.

RCA fixes causes once, not repeatedly

    Gap in Structured Investigation

Teams often stop at the obvious cause or blame individuals. Few professionals are trained to drill down to systemic root causes, making RCA-capable staff genuinely scarce.

    RCA makes trained investigators scarce

    Healthcare and Safety Incidents

Hospitals, utilities and industrial sites must investigate incidents and near misses. RCA gives safety and quality teams a defensible method to stop them happening again.

What is Root Cause Analysis training?

Root cause analysis training is a practical, one-day course that teaches you to investigate problems, defects and failures and eliminate their underlying causes so they do not recur. You learn structured tools such as the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA and the 8D method, and when to use each one.

Is RCA training worth it for my career?

Yes. Root cause analysis is one of the most transferable problem-solving skills across quality, operations, engineering, healthcare and IT. In Mauritius, manufacturers, medical device makers and service firms increasingly value professionals who can investigate failures and prevent them, making RCA-capable staff genuinely sought after.

    Who should attend this course?

The course suits quality engineers and managers, production supervisors, operations and process improvement professionals, health and safety officers, IT incident managers, and anyone responsible for investigating problems and driving corrective action. No prior quality knowledge is required.

Do I need any prior experience to join?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. The course introduces RCA methods from first principles, so beginners and experienced professionals alike can follow along. Some familiarity with quality or process improvement is helpful but not required.

What quality standard does RCA support?

RCA underpins the corrective action requirement of ISO 9001:2015 (Clause 10.2), which asks organisations to determine the causes of nonconformities and prevent recurrence. It is also central to Six Sigma, Lean, ITIL problem management and CAPA in regulated industries.

    Pricing

How much does RCA training cost in Mauritius?

Course fees vary by delivery format (live virtual, classroom or corporate) and group size, so pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for current fees and upcoming batches in Mauritius.

    What payment methods are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the payment option that works best for you.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for RCA training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on RCA exercises, case study investigations and team discussion during the one-day programme, so you practise the tools as you learn them.

How am I assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead you apply each RCA tool through practical exercises, including Is/Is Not problem definition, a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop and an 8D report on a realistic problem scenario.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning on finishing the one-day programme. It recognises the practical root cause analysis skills you have developed; it is not an external certification or credential.

    Does the completion certificate expire?

No. There is no renewal or expiry. The RCA skills you learn are immediately applicable and need no maintenance, so what you gain stays useful to you throughout your career.

Will I be able to apply RCA at work straight away?

Yes. By the end of the course you can write a precise problem statement, run a 5 Whys, facilitate a Fishbone workshop, complete an 8D report, and develop and verify corrective actions on your own real problems.

    Course Content

What topics does the RCA course cover?

The course covers RCA principles and problem types, problem definition and data collection (Is/Is Not, timeline analysis), the 5 Whys, the Fishbone diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, the 8D method, and corrective action, verification and building an RCA culture.

Which RCA tools will I learn?

You learn five core tools and when to use each: the 5 Whys for simple problems, the Fishbone diagram for complex multi-cause problems, Fault Tree Analysis for safety-critical events, FMEA for prioritising corrective actions, and 8D for structured, team-based problem solving.

    Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on exercises and case study investigations run throughout the day. You practise defining problems, running a 5 Whys, building a Fishbone diagram and completing an 8D report, so you leave able to use the tools independently.

How long is the course and what format is it?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), and is also available as two half-days totalling 8 hours. It is delivered in live virtual (online), classroom and corporate onsite formats, so you can choose what fits your schedule.

Does it help with ISO 9001 compliance?

Yes. The course maps RCA directly to the ISO 9001:2015 corrective action requirement (Clause 10.2) and to CAPA processes in regulated industries, giving you a structured, documented way to investigate nonconformities and prevent recurrence.
