    Is there an exam for RCA training?

    No. This is a non-certification course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on RCA exercises, case study investigations and team discussion during the one-day programme, so you practise the tools as you learn them.

    How am I assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead you apply each RCA tool through practical exercises, including Is/Is Not problem definition, a 5 Whys investigation, a Fishbone workshop and an 8D report on a realistic problem scenario.

    What do I receive on completion?

    You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning on finishing the one-day programme. It recognises the practical root cause analysis skills you have developed; it is not an external certification or credential.

    Does the completion certificate expire?

    No. There is no renewal or expiry. The RCA skills you learn are immediately applicable and need no maintenance, so what you gain stays useful to you throughout your career.

    Will I be able to apply RCA at work straight away?

    Yes. By the end of the course you can write a precise problem statement, run a 5 Whys, facilitate a Fishbone workshop, complete an 8D report, and develop and verify corrective actions on your own real problems.

    The course covers RCA principles and problem types, problem definition and data collection (Is/Is Not, timeline analysis), the 5 Whys, the Fishbone diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, the 8D method, and corrective action, verification and building an RCA culture.

    Which RCA tools will I learn?

    You learn five core tools and when to use each: the 5 Whys for simple problems, the Fishbone diagram for complex multi-cause problems, Fault Tree Analysis for safety-critical events, FMEA for prioritising corrective actions, and 8D for structured, team-based problem solving.

    Is the training hands-on?

    Yes. Hands-on exercises and case study investigations run throughout the day. You practise defining problems, running a 5 Whys, building a Fishbone diagram and completing an 8D report, so you leave able to use the tools independently.

    How long is the course and what format is it?

    The programme runs for one day (8 hours), and is also available as two half-days totalling 8 hours. It is delivered in live virtual (online), classroom and corporate onsite formats, so you can choose what fits your schedule.
