What is the PfMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PfMP worth it for professionals in Malta?

Yes. PfMP positions you for senior roles such as Portfolio Manager, PMO Manager and Head of PMO, which command strong salary bands in Malta. As iGaming, fintech, banking and EU-funded programmes scale, certified portfolio leaders are in growing demand across the island.

Is the PfMP recognised in Malta?

Yes. PfMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers across Malta and worldwide, including iGaming operators, banks, fintech firms and consultancies that run large, strategy-critical project portfolios.

How long is the PfMP certification valid?

PfMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area.

Do I need PMP or PgMP before taking PfMP?

No. Neither PMP nor PgMP is a formal prerequisite for PfMP. Eligibility is based on your business and portfolio management experience, though many senior portfolio managers do hold one or both credentials.

How much does PfMP training cost in Malta?

PfMP training fees in Malta vary by format and provider and are available on request in euro. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Talk to a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PfMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, with members paying less than non-members (around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members, for reference). PMI individual membership is about USD 139 per year; confirm current fees on pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PfMP training?

What happens if I do not pass the PfMP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our training, mock exams and revision support are designed to help you prepare thoroughly across all five domains before you sit.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across five performance domains and is delivered via Pearson VUE.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), based on the fourth edition of the Standard for Portfolio Management and the current ECO.

What is the PfMP panel review and exam application process?

Beyond the written exam, PfMP includes a panel review, a multi-rater assessment of your documented portfolio experience. You submit a PMI application, pass any audit, clear the panel review, then schedule the exam within your one-year eligibility window. Both must be passed.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from PfMP training?

The training welcomes experienced professionals. PfMP is an advanced credential, so to sit the exam PMI requires significant business and portfolio management experience. Our trainers help you map your experience to the domains and prepare for the application and panel review.

What are the eligibility requirements to sit the PfMP exam?

Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires 120 months (10 years) of professional business experience within the last 15 years, plus portfolio management experience (84 months with a secondary diploma, or 48 months with a four-year degree), and a panel review.

What training formats are available in Malta?

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?
