    Do I need SIAM Foundation before SIAM Professional?

    EXIN recommends SIAM Foundation as the prerequisite for SIAM Professional. Foundation establishes the concepts, structures and roles at awareness level, while Professional tests advanced application and analysis through scenario-based questions.

    How long is the SIAM Professional certification valid?

    The SIAM Professional certification is valid for lifetime. It does not expire, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement to maintain it.

    What is the format of the SIAM Professional exam?

    The EXIN SIAM Professional exam is closed book and scenario based. Each question presents a complex multi-supplier organisational scenario, and you select the best course of action based on SIAM principles and the SIAM Body of Knowledge.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 40 scenario-based multiple-choice questions and a duration of 90 minutes (1.5 hours). It is delivered online with EXIN proctoring or at an accredited test location.

    What is the passing score for the SIAM Professional exam?

    The passing score is 65%, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly. The scenario-based format tests judgement and decision-making, so broad, applied mastery matters more than memorisation.

    Where can I take the SIAM Professional exam?

    You can take it online through EXIN's proctored exam system or at an EXIN accredited test location. The exam is often arranged through an accredited training provider as part of a training and exam bundle.

    What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

    Can a beginner take this course?

    SIAM Professional is an advanced credential, so it is best suited to those with SIAM Foundation and practical ITSM experience. If you are new to SIAM, we recommend starting with Foundation first, then progressing to Professional.

    Is the training aligned to the latest SIAM standard?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the EXIN SIAM Professional examination specification and the SIAM Body of Knowledge published by Scopism, and it reflects framework integration with ITIL 4, Agile, DevOps and ISO/IEC 20000.
