What is the CAPM certification?

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is the Project Management Institute's entry-level credential. It validates your understanding of project management terminology, processes, and frameworks across predictive, agile, and hybrid delivery, and it is designed for people with limited or no project management experience.

Who should take this course?

Students, recent graduates, career changers, and project team members who support delivery without yet leading it. It also suits project-adjacent professionals such as business analysts, PMO analysts, and quality coordinators who want their project knowledge formally validated.

How long is the certification valid and how do I renew it?

The credential is valid for 3 years. Renewal means retaking and passing the exam within that cycle. Unlike PMP and other PMI credentials, this one is not renewed by accumulating PDUs.

Is the credential recognised by employers in Lithuania?

Yes. It is a PMI credential, recognised through PMI's network across more than 200 countries, and Lithuanian employers in fintech, global business services, ICT, energy, and infrastructure all recognise it as a credible signal of foundational project knowledge.

How does this compare with the PMP certification?

This is the entry-level credential and needs only 23 hours of project management education with no work experience. PMP is the advanced credential and requires 36 to 60 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours. Most people earn this one first and build towards PMP as experience accumulates.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You get up to 3 attempts within the 1-year eligibility window that begins when PMI approves your application, so a first-attempt miss is not the end of the road. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to make the first attempt count.

What is the CAPM exam format?

It is a closed-book exam of 150 multiple-choice questions with a 3-hour time limit. Both single-answer and multiple-answer question formats appear. You can sit it online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What does the CAPM exam cover?

Four domains from the Examination Content Outline effective January 2023: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%), and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%). The content is grounded in the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the Agile Practice Guide.

Is there a fixed passing score?

No. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a published percentage. Results come back as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target, or Needs Improvement, so aim for solid coverage of all four domains.

What are the eligibility requirements for the exam?

A secondary degree, such as a high school diploma or global equivalent, plus at least 23 hours of project management education completed before the exam. No project work experience is required. Our 24-hour programme satisfies the education requirement in full.

How do I apply for and book the exam?

Create a PMI account, submit the online application documenting your education, and wait for approval, which typically takes a few business days when the application is not audited. Once approved, pay the exam fee and schedule through Pearson VUE within your 1-year eligibility window.

Course Content

Can a complete beginner take this course?

Yes. This is an entry-level credential built for people with little or no project experience, and the course assumes no prior knowledge. Trainers work through concepts from first principles, using case studies and practice questions so you build confidence before exam day.

What topics does the training cover?

The four exam domains: project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based delivery including scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and procurement, agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP, and business analysis frameworks covering requirements and solution evaluation. Performance measurement and earned value are covered throughout.

How many training hours are there and how are they scheduled?

The programme runs for 24 hours in total. You can take it as 3 full days at 8 hours a day, 4 days at 6 hours, or 6 half days at 4 hours, depending on the cohort you join and your availability.

Which edition of the PMBOK Guide is the course aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide, and mapped to PMI's Examination Content Outline effective January 2023. That is the same basis PMI uses to write the exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. You get practice questions written to the Examination Content Outline and mock exams matched to the 150-question, 3-hour format, so you can pace yourself and identify weak domains before the real thing.
