Do I need a PMP before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many professionals hold both, as PMP covers broad project management while PMI-RMP specialises in risk.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised by employers in India?

Yes. PMI-RMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued across India in BFSI, IT services and GCCs, consulting, infrastructure and the public sector, particularly where formal project risk management is required.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-RMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and it varies by region. PMI members pay a reduced exam rate, and membership also gives free access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, including single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and delivered via Pearson VUE, online proctored or at a test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard rather than a fixed percentage.

What are the five PMI-RMP exam domains?

The five domains per the January 2022 ECO are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Your result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass, can I retake the exam?

Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. A reexamination fee applies to the second and third attempts. Our prep resources and mock exams are designed to help you pass the first time.

Does the training satisfy the PMI education requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 32 contact hours of risk management education, which fully satisfies the 30-hour requirement for bachelor's degree and GAC-accredited degree candidates. High school diploma candidates need 40 hours and should add supplementary study.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the 115-question format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest ECO?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education, but the course itself welcomes learners building toward eligibility and provides hands-on practice throughout.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI offers three paths. With a bachelor's degree you need 24 months of project risk experience within the last 5 years plus 30 hours of risk education. With a high school diploma you need 36 months plus 40 hours. A GAC-accredited degree needs 12 months plus 30 hours.
