What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Indonesia?

Yes. As Indonesia scales mega-projects such as IKN Nusantara and expands energy, BFSI and digital investment, employers increasingly value certified risk specialists. Risk manager roles average around Rp511 million a year, and the credential helps you access specialist roles and stronger pay. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Is PMP required before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do carry both, as the two credentials are complementary, but the PMI-RMP stands on its own as a specialist qualification.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle and pay the renewal fee to PMI.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers worldwide and is especially valued in high-risk sectors such as construction, energy, defence and financial services, where formal project risk management is often contractually or regulatorily required.

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned, ECO-based courseware, practice questions and mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, guidance on the PMI application, and learner support with a course completion certificate for your contact hours. How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

For reference, PMI lists the exam at around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; actual prices vary by region, so confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership (about USD 139 per year) reduces the exam fee and gives free access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Is the exam fee included in the course price?

No. The PMI exam fee is paid separately to PMI and is not part of the training fee. The training prepares you for the exam and covers the required risk management education hours. Ask a learning advisor to break down the full cost for you.

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and lasts 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions (single and multiple answer), delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

Per the January 2022 ECO there are five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%). The training covers all five in depth.

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get for the PMI-RMP exam?

You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from the date your application is approved. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm current amounts at pmi.org.

Which standard is the PMI-RMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, aligned to PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide. The 2022 ECO covers risk management across predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.

Course Content

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five PMI-RMP domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. You practise real tools such as SWOT, Delphi, probability and impact matrices, Monte Carlo simulation and expected monetary value.

Do the training hours meet the PMI education requirement?

The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour risk education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) applicants. Set A (high school diploma) applicants need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk education.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and an exam simulator mapped to the 115-question, 2.5-hour format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you find and close weak areas before exam day.

Can a beginner take this course without deep risk experience?

You can attend the training to build knowledge and earn the education hours. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience, so beginners should plan to build that experience alongside training. Our advisors can help you map your eligibility path.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-RMP ECO?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, covering predictive, agile and hybrid risk management.
