    Do I need a PMP before taking the PgMP?

    No. A PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

    How long is the PgMP valid and how is it renewed?

    The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

    What is included in the PgMP training fee?

    How much does the PgMP exam cost?

    PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, for reference around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members. PMI individual membership, around USD 139 per year, lowers the exam fee. Verify current figures on pmi.org before applying.

    Is the exam fee included in the training price?

    No. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the training fee. Membership can reduce both the exam fee and renewal costs.

    What is the format of the PgMP exam?

    The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across the five performance domains.

    How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

    The PgMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

    There are five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The training covers all five in depth.

    What is the PgMP panel review?

    The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It must be passed in addition to the written exam to earn the credential.

    What is the passing score and how many attempts do I get?

    PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage, reporting results as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain. You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period.

    What will I learn in the PgMP training?

    You will learn to align programmes to strategy, manage the full programme life cycle, realise benefits, engage stakeholders and govern at scale, mapped to the five PgMP performance domains, plus application and exam strategy.

    Which standard and syllabus is the course aligned to?

    The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline from PMI, so your preparation matches what the exam actually assesses.

    Are practice tests, mock exams and assignments included?

    Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes aligned to the exam content outline, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

    Do I need prior experience to attend the training?

    Anyone can attend the training. To sit the PgMP exam, PMI requires substantial project and programme management experience under one of three eligibility sets, all within the last 15 years, plus the panel review.

    What learning materials are provided?

    You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, an overview of The Standard for Program Management, templates, flashcards and chapter-wise quizzes.

    What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

    PMI offers three sets: with a secondary diploma, 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP plus 84 months of programme experience; with a bachelor's degree, the same PM requirement plus 48 months of programme experience; a GAC-accredited degree reduces the programme requirement to 36 months. All within 15 years, plus a panel review.
