What Is Driving Demand for Primavera P6 Skills in Guatemala

    A Growing Construction Pipeline

Guatemala's construction market is forecast to grow from around US$3.4bn in 2025 toward US$5.6bn by 2031, adding bridges, viaducts and tunnel packages that need disciplined P6 scheduling.

P6 skills keep expanding project pipelines on schedule

    Large Energy and Transmission Tenders

PEG-5 procures up to 1,400 MW of firm power and PET-3 adds 14 projects with 500+ km of lines and new substations, all demanding resource-loaded, milestone-driven schedules.

P6 handles complex energy programme scheduling

    Strategic Infrastructure Programmes

Puerto Quetzal modernisation, road corridors and long-horizon inter-oceanic plans mean multi-year, multi-contract programmes that rely on portfolio-grade planning and progress control.

    P6 supports programme-scale coordination

    Nearshoring and Industrial Parks

Foreign investment in nearshoring facilities and Escuintla's industrial and logistics parks is creating fast-track construction where accurate scheduling protects tight completion dates.

    P6 controls fast-moving facility builds

    P6 Written into Contracts

On EPC and public capital projects, Primavera P6 schedules and progress updates are often a named contractual deliverable, so teams need people who can produce them correctly.

    P6 proficiency meets contractual deliverables

A Planning and Controls Talent Gap

Guatemala has strong site-engineering talent but far fewer trained planners and project controls engineers, making confident P6 users scarce and highly sought after.

P6 training closes the local skills gap

    General

What is Oracle Primavera P6 training and who is it for?

Oracle Primavera P6 training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource-load and control projects in Primavera P6, the enterprise scheduling application from Oracle Corporation. It suits project planners, schedulers, project engineers and project controls professionals in construction, energy and infrastructure.

Is Primavera P6 worth learning in Guatemala?

Yes. With the construction market growing and major energy and transmission tenders under way, employers increasingly expect confident P6 users on planning and project controls teams. P6 schedules are often a named contractual deliverable, so the skill is directly useful on capital projects.

What are the two levels of the course?

The training is offered at two levels. Fundamentals (2 days) covers the P6 enterprise structure, activities, relationships, scheduling, resources, baselines and progress. Advanced (3 days) adds cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger, multi-project management and custom reporting.

Which level should I take, Fundamentals or Advanced?

Take Fundamentals if you are new to Primavera P6 or use it only occasionally. Take Advanced if you already work in P6 regularly and want to master cost and resource loading, earned value, schedule comparison and multi-project control. You can attend either level on its own or both in sequence.

Do I need Primavera P6 software installed?

Yes. You are expected to have Oracle Primavera P6 (P6 Professional or P6 EPPM) installed and accessible before the training so you can follow the hands-on exercises. Ask our team whether a training environment is provided or whether you should arrange your own P6 access.

    Pricing

How much does Primavera P6 training cost in Guatemala?

Fees depend on the level you choose, the delivery format (live online, classroom or corporate on-site) and group size. Pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote tailored to individual or team training.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions covering all modules, hands-on P6 exercises using realistic project scenarios, learning resources, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Ask about corporate or group pricing for team enrolments.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for planning, project controls and PMO teams. Request a quote and we will tailor delivery to your team size and project calendar.

Is the Primavera P6 software licence included?

No. Oracle Primavera P6 is a separate commercial product from Oracle Corporation, and a valid licence or database access is not part of the training fee. Confirm software access requirements with our team before your session.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that fits you or your organisation, and to see upcoming batches.

    Assessment

Is there an exam or certification for this course?

No. This is a non-certification, skills-focused course with no examination and no external credential. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Primavera P6 exercises. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

How is my learning assessed during the training?

There is no formal assessment. You build proficiency through guided P6 exercises using realistic construction and capital-project scenarios, working alongside the instructor so you can apply each feature and workflow as you learn it.

What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

You will be able to navigate P6, build a project with the EPS, OBS and WBS, create activities and relationships, run the scheduler, read the critical path and float, assign resources, set a baseline, update progress and produce basic layouts and reports.

What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

You will be able to cost-load and resource-load a schedule, calculate and report earned value, use Claim Digger to document schedule changes, manage multiple projects with cross-project links, and build custom layouts and reports, including Excel export.

Do I get anything to show I completed the course?

Yes. On completing each level you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It recognises the training you attended; it is not an external certification, as this is a skills course with no exam.

    Course Content

What topics does the Primavera P6 training cover?

Fundamentals covers the enterprise project structure, WBS, activities, calendars, relationships, scheduling, the critical path, resources, baselines and progress. Advanced covers scheduling options, resource and cost loading, earned value, baseline comparison and Claim Digger, multi-project management and custom reporting.

Do I need prior experience to attend?

For Fundamentals, no. It is designed for people new to P6, and basic familiarity with project concepts helps but is not required. For Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on P6 experience.

Is the training hands-on or theory only?

It is hands-on throughout. You follow the instructor inside Primavera P6, building schedules, assigning resources, setting baselines and updating progress using realistic project scenarios, so you practise every feature as it is taught.

Does the course cover earned value and cost control?

Yes, at the Advanced level. You cost-load the schedule, build cost accounts and an S-curve, and generate earned value metrics such as BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI and CPI to forecast final cost and completion for reporting.
