What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

The PMP (Project Management Professional) is PMI's flagship credential and the global gold standard for project managers. It validates your ability to lead predictive, agile and hybrid projects and is designed for project managers, team leads and delivery professionals with project experience.

Is the PMP worth it for professionals in Helsinki?

Yes. PMP is recognised by technology, telecom, engineering, energy and financial services employers across Helsinki and Finland. PMP holders report notably higher median pay than non-certified peers, and senior project roles in Finland average around EUR 85,000 and above.

There are two paths. Path A: a four-year degree, 36 months leading projects and 35 contact hours of project management education. Path B: a secondary diploma, 60 months leading projects and the same 35 contact hours. Our training provides the 35 contact hours.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam is a closed-book, computer-based exam of 180 questions using multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank formats. It is based on the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

How long is the PMP exam and how many questions?

The exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. It is delivered through Pearson VUE, either online proctored or at a test centre.

What are the PMP exam domains?

The updated exam aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals (15%), Predictive Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Results are set through psychometric analysis and reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain, so aim for broad mastery across all areas.

What if I do not pass the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes mock exams, practice questions and trainer support to prepare you thoroughly. Reexamination fees apply for further attempts.

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, including centres in Finland. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE.
