What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for programme leaders in Spain?

Yes. PgMP validates senior programme leadership and positions you for roles such as Programme Manager, Head of PMO and Programme Director. In Spain, senior programme roles average around €85,000, and demand is rising as banks, energy firms and consultancies scale strategy-critical programmes.

Is PMP required before I take the PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

What are the PgMP eligibility requirements?

You must meet one of three sets. With a secondary diploma: 4 years of project experience (or PMP) plus 7 years of programme experience. With a bachelor's degree: 4 years of project experience (or PMP) plus 4 years of programme experience. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

Is the PgMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PgMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries and is valued by senior employers in Spain and worldwide. Fewer than 3,000 practitioners hold it, which makes it a strong differentiator.

Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Spain?

Training fees vary by format and provider and are quoted locally. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Contact us for a tailored quote or to ask about group pricing.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Request a quote to confirm what your plan includes.

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing, with members paying less than non-members. PMI individual membership also lowers the exam and renewal costs. Confirm current amounts on the PMI store before applying.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions are distributed across the five performance domains and include scenario-based items.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the five PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The five domains are Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The 4th edition Standard for Program Management underpins the exam.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass the exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams and domain-focused practice are designed to help you build broad mastery and reduce the risk of a resit.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the PMI application, the panel review and exam strategy.

Which standard and edition is the course based on?

The course is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so your preparation matches what the exam actually assesses.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

PgMP is a senior credential, so learners typically already lead programmes. The training consolidates that experience, fills governance and benefits gaps, and prepares you for the application, panel review and exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the PgMP domains, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme.
