    What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

    Fundamentals (2 days, 16 hours) covers Jira navigation, project creation, the Epic, Story, Task, Bug and Subtask hierarchy, issue management, Scrum boards and sprints, Kanban boards and WIP limits, roadmaps, versions, components, filters, basic JQL and the core agile reports.

    What does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced (3 days, 24 hours) covers custom workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission, notification, screen, field and issue type schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira Automation, DevOps and Atlassian integrations, and Jira administration.

    How long is each level of the training?

    The Fundamentals level runs over 2 days for a total of 16 hours, and the Advanced level runs over 3 days for a total of 24 hours. Both are available as full-day sessions or extended half-day formats to suit different schedules.

    Is the training hands-on?

    Yes. Both levels are delivered with live instructor demonstration and hands-on Jira exercises throughout. You follow along in a Jira environment using realistic agile software delivery scenarios, so you build genuine proficiency through practice, not just theory.

    Which Jira platform is used in the course?

    The training focuses on Jira Software, Atlassian's agile delivery platform, and is taught using Jira Cloud, the primary delivery model, with reference to Jira Data Center where relevant. Skills transfer directly to your own Jira instance at work.

    Assessment

    Is there an exam for Jira training?

    No. Jira training is a non-certification skills course with no examination at either the Fundamentals or Advanced level. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities, and you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

    Do I receive a certificate after the training?

    Yes. On completing each level, you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning that recognises the practical Jira skills you have built. This is a completion record from the training provider, not an external certification.

    How is learning reinforced without an exam?

    Learning is reinforced through continuous hands-on exercises using real agile delivery scenarios. You practise creating projects, running sprints, building boards, writing JQL and configuring workflows as you go, so you leave able to apply the skills straight away.

    What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

    After Fundamentals you can create and configure Jira projects, manage issues across the full hierarchy, run sprints on the Scrum board, use the Kanban board with WIP limits, plan releases with versions, create JQL filters and interpret the core agile reports.

    What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

    After Advanced you can design custom workflows, apply permission, notification, screen and field schemes, create custom fields, write advanced JQL, build dashboards, create automation rules, connect Jira to development tools and administer a Jira instance.
