    Is the PMP worth it for project managers in Spain?

    Yes. Certified project managers in Spain average around EUR 50,859 a year against roughly EUR 45,800 for uncertified peers, about 11 per cent more, and PayScale puts the average for PMP holders at EUR 60,000. Energy, construction, banking and technology employers all list it on senior roles.

    Which standard is the PMP exam based on in 2026?

    The exam follows PMI's Examination Content Outline and is anchored in the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition, which is the primary reference standard. It also draws on the Agile Practice Guide, reflecting how much agile and hybrid content the exam now carries.

    How long is the certification valid and how do I renew it?

    The credential is valid for three years. To renew, earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) within each three-year cycle across PMI's Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, then pay the renewal fee through PMI's CCR system.

    Is the credential recognised by employers in Spain?

    Yes. PMI's credential is recognised in over 200 countries and appears in job specifications, client contracts and procurement requirements. In Spain it is valued particularly by infrastructure, energy, banking and consulting employers that deliver across Europe and Latin America.

    How is the PMP different from the PMI-ACP?

    The PMP covers predictive, agile and hybrid delivery and is the broader, more senior credential. The PMI-ACP is agile-specific and goes deeper into individual agile frameworks. Many professionals hold both, but if you lead mixed delivery, the PMP is the one employers ask for.

    How much does the PMP exam cost in Spain?

    PMI bills the exam fee directly in USD under regional pricing, separately from your training fee. PMI members pay noticeably less than non-members, and membership also gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the Agile Practice Guide.     Is the exam fee included in the course price?

    No. The exam is purchased separately through your PMI account, so the training fee and the PMI exam fee are two distinct payments. We guide you through the application and booking steps so there are no surprises.

    Do you offer group or corporate pricing in Spain?

    What happens if I do not pass the exam first time?

    You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window, so a first-time miss is not the end of the road. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams and simulator are built to surface weak domains early, well before exam day.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes including two scheduled 10-minute breaks. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice single and multiple answer, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank formats.

    What domains does the PMP exam cover?

    Five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%), per the Examination Content Outline aligned to the 8th edition.

    Is there a fixed passing score for the exam?

    No. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard and does not publish a fixed cut score. Results come back as pass or fail with performance feedback per domain, reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so broad mastery across all five domains is the goal.

    Where can I sit the PMP exam in Spain?

    You can sit it at a Pearson VUE test centre or take it from home or the office through Pearson VUE's OnVUE online proctoring. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website once your application is approved.

    Does the exam cover agile as well as waterfall?

    Yes, heavily. Agile Frameworks and Methodologies is a dedicated domain worth 27 per cent of the exam, alongside Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies at 28 per cent. Between them, the exam mirrors how most Spanish organisations actually deliver, using both approaches side by side.

    Course Content

    Do I need prior experience to take this course?

    You can enrol in the training at any stage, and the sessions assume no formal methodology background. To sit the exam, however, PMI requires either a four-year degree plus 36 months leading projects, or a secondary diploma plus 60 months, alongside 35 contact hours of project management education.

    What topics does the training cover?

    The training covers all five exam domains: project fundamentals and core concepts, predictive plan-based methodologies, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategic management, and stakeholder engagement and communication, plus exam strategy and application guidance.

    How many training hours does the course include?

    The instructor-led programme delivers 32 hours of training, available as four full days, six shorter days or eight half-days. Guided self-study takes you to the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires for the application.

    What learning materials and practice resources are provided?

    You receive PMI-aligned courseware, chapter-wise quizzes and flashcards, a large bank of practice questions mapped to the exam format, full-length mock exams, exam simulator access, and downloadable project management templates you can use at work.

    Is the courseware aligned to the current exam?

    Yes. The courseware follows PMI's current Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, including the five-domain structure and the expanded agile and business analysis content. You will not be studying a superseded syllabus.

    Will I get a certificate of completion after the training?

    Yes. Once you meet the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate confirming the contact hours earned, which supports the project management education requirement on your PMI application.

    What are the eligibility requirements to apply for the exam?

    Two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary school diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours. No formal project manager job title is required.
