What is the PfMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PfMP worth it for professionals in Spain?

Yes. PfMP validates senior portfolio leadership and opens roles such as portfolio manager, head of PMO and PMO director, where Spanish salaries commonly range from around 61,000 to 94,000 euros a year. As EU-funded programmes scale, certified portfolio leaders are in strong demand. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Is the PfMP recognised in Spain?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PfMP is globally recognised and valued by employers across Spain, including banking, consulting, energy, telecoms and public-sector organisations that run large project portfolios.

Do I need PMP or PgMP before PfMP?

No. Neither PMP nor PgMP is a prerequisite for PfMP. Eligibility is based on general business experience and portfolio management experience, though many senior portfolio managers hold one or both credentials.

How long is the PfMP valid and how is it renewed?

PfMP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within every three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

What is included in the PfMP course fee?

How much does PfMP training cost in Spain?

PfMP training in Spain is quoted in euros and is available on request, as pricing varies by format and cohort. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD and is not part of the training fee. Ask a learning advisor about group and corporate rates.

How much is the PfMP exam fee?

PMI bills the PfMP exam fee in USD under regional pricing, approximately USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members; verify current fees on the PMI store. PMI membership, around USD 139 per year, can reduce both the exam and renewal costs.

What if I do not pass the PfMP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to build readiness across all five domains before you sit.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) time limit. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), all aligned to the current PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. You must pass both the panel review and the written exam to earn the credential.

Course Content

Can a beginner take PfMP training without senior experience?

Anyone can enrol in the training, and it is structured to build portfolio governance knowledge step by step. To sit the PfMP exam, however, PMI requires substantial business and portfolio management experience plus a panel review.

What topics does the PfMP training cover?

The programme covers the five PfMP domains: strategic alignment, governance, portfolio performance, portfolio risk management and communications management, plus application guidance and exam strategy, aligned to the 4th Edition standard.

What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PfMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Portfolio Management overview, templates, flashcards and topic-wise quizzes to support your preparation.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness across all five domains.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PfMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to The Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline.

PMI requires a secondary or four-year degree, up to 120 months of business experience within the last 15 years, portfolio management experience of 36 to 84 months depending on your education, and a panel review.
