Do I need prior experience or prerequisites?

How long is the IASSC Yellow Belt certification valid?

The certification holds Current status for three years from the date you certify. To maintain it, you pass the IASSC recertification exam before the elapse date or within 90 days after.

Is the IASSC exam fee included in the training price?

No. The IASSC exam voucher is billed separately in USD and purchased through orders.iassc.org, with the price varying by region. As a reference, the base voucher is around USD 295. Confirm the current fee before booking.

What is the format of the IASSC Yellow Belt exam?

The exam is closed book and made up of multiple-choice and true/false questions covering the five DMAIC phases. It is delivered online with on-demand proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The IASSC Yellow Belt exam has 60 questions and a two-hour allotted time. Some exam forms include up to six additional non-graded questions that do not count towards your score.

What score do I need to pass?

You need a minimum of 230 points out of 300 to pass. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control phases, so prepare broadly across all five.

How and where do I take the exam?

You can sit the exam online through the IASSC web-based proctored system, available on demand, or at one of thousands of Pearson VUE test centres across Spain and worldwide. You purchase the voucher at orders.iassc.org.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit by purchasing another exam voucher from IASSC. Our preparation resources and trainer guidance help you strengthen weak areas before you try again. Confirm the current retake policy on the IASSC site.
