What DFSS Training Adds to Your ToolkitPractical Gains for You and Your Team

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

DFSS training helps you move from fixing problems after they appear to designing quality in from the start. You learn the DMADV method and the practical tools that turn customer requirements into robust, verified designs. Whether you are a design or R&D engineer, a quality engineer supporting design reviews, or a Six Sigma practitioner adding the design counterpart to DMAIC, the training builds capability you can apply to real product and process work.

By the end of the programme you can lead a VOC workshop, build a QFD matrix, run a Design FMEA and structure a design verification plan. These are the skills Spanish employers in automotive, aerospace and medical devices increasingly expect from engineers working on new product introduction.

    • Design new products and processes right the first time using the DMADV roadmap
    • Turn customer needs into measurable CTQs and robust design targets
    • Build QFD Houses of Quality that align design to what customers value
    • Run Design FMEA to find and remove failure risks before launch
    • Apply robust design and P-diagrams to cut sensitivity to variation
    • Reduce costly late redesign, rework and warranty claims
    • Add a design-quality skill set that engineering degrees rarely cover
    • Strengthen your standing on product development and NPI teams
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

DFSS group training helps organisations design quality in rather than inspecting it in. Teams learn a common DMADV approach and shared tools, so design, quality and manufacturing work from the same language. Delivered onsite or live virtual for your engineering and R&D groups, the training can use your own product and process scenarios during the exercises for immediate relevance.

If your teams keep discovering design flaws in test or in the field, DFSS training builds the discipline to catch them at the design stage. Your people gain a structured way to prioritise customer requirements, balance design trade-offs and verify performance before launch.

    • Fewer design defects reaching production, test and the customer
    • Faster, more predictable new product introduction
    • A shared DMADV language across design, quality and manufacturing
    • Lower warranty, scrap and rework cost through first-time-right design
    • Stronger alignment with design-control expectations under ISO 9001 and EU MDR
    • Design decisions traceable from customer need to production parameter
    • Team capability built on your own live design projects
    • Scalable delivery for engineering and R&D groups across Spain

Industry Forces Making Design Quality a Priority in Spain

Automotive's Shift to New EV Platforms

Spain is Europe's second-largest vehicle maker, and new EV and battery programmes demand designs that hit quality from launch. DMADV prevents the costly late redesign that legacy processes miss.

    DFSS builds right-first-time design skills

Tighter Medical Device Rules Under EU MDR

EU MDR makes design controls, Design FMEA and design verification mandatory. Employers need engineers who build compliance and traceability into the design, not bolt it on afterwards.

DFSS builds design-control and DFMEA skills

    Aerospace Design-Quality Expectations

Spain's Airbus-anchored aerospace cluster works to AS9100 design controls, where one design failure carries safety and cost risk. Structured DFSS methods are prized in this sector.

DFSS builds structured design and risk skills

Reshoring and Next Generation EU Investment

PERTE funding and reshoring are launching new product and process lines that must meet quality targets from day one, not after warranty claims. DFSS is built to design that in.

    DFSS builds new-product-introduction skills

    Shortage of Design-Plus-Quality Engineers

Spanish manufacturers report gaps in engineers who pair design skill with statistical quality tools. DFSS-trained professionals are scarce, and that makes the capability valuable.

DFSS makes trained engineers stand out

    Sustainability and First-Time-Right Pressure

Green manufacturing and cost discipline push firms to design out defects and material waste upfront. Robust design and CTQ flow-down deliver exactly that first-time-right outcome.

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training teaches you to design new products, services and processes that meet customer needs and reach Six Sigma quality from the start, using the DMADV roadmap. It is worth it because Spanish employers in automotive, aerospace and medical devices increasingly need engineers who can design quality in rather than fix defects later.

DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) improves existing processes that fall short of target. DFSS, using the DMADV roadmap (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify), designs new products and processes so they meet requirements from the outset. This course covers DFSS and DMADV; organisations use both together.

It suits product and design engineers, R&D professionals, new product development managers, quality and manufacturing engineers, and Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts who want to add the design side to their toolkit. Anyone responsible for designing new products, services or processes will benefit.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma ideas such as CTQ, variation and DMAIC is helpful, but the course introduces the DMADV method and every DFSS tool from first principles, so newcomers can follow along.

The DFSS methodology and its tools, such as QFD, Design FMEA and robust design, are established design-quality practices used across Spanish industry and worldwide. The skills apply directly to new product introduction in automotive, aerospace, medical devices and industrial sectors.

    General

What is Design for Six Sigma training and is it worth it?

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training teaches you to design new products, services and processes that meet customer needs and reach Six Sigma quality from the start, using the DMADV roadmap. It is worth it because Spanish employers in automotive, aerospace and medical devices increasingly need engineers who can design quality in rather than fix defects later.

What is the difference between DFSS and DMAIC?

DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) improves existing processes that fall short of target. DFSS, using the DMADV roadmap (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify), designs new products and processes so they meet requirements from the outset. This course covers DFSS and DMADV; organisations use both together.

Who should attend this DFSS course in Spain?

It suits product and design engineers, R&D professionals, new product development managers, quality and manufacturing engineers, and Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts who want to add the design side to their toolkit. Anyone responsible for designing new products, services or processes will benefit.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge to join?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma ideas such as CTQ, variation and DMAIC is helpful, but the course introduces the DMADV method and every DFSS tool from first principles, so newcomers can follow along.

Is this course recognised across Spain?

The DFSS methodology and its tools, such as QFD, Design FMEA and robust design, are established design-quality practices used across Spanish industry and worldwide. The skills apply directly to new product introduction in automotive, aerospace, medical devices and industrial sectors.

    Pricing

How much does Design for Six Sigma training cost in Spain?

Pricing varies by delivery format (live virtual, classroom or corporate onsite), group size and schedule. Your fee includes instructor-led training, hands-on tool exercises, course materials and a course completion record. Contact us for current pricing or request a quote for your preferred format.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically covers instructor-led delivery across all six DFSS modules, hands-on exercises in VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix and Design FMEA, course materials and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Speak with a learning advisor for the details of your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate rates for teams in Spain?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for engineering, R&D and quality teams, delivered onsite or live virtual. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you, and request a quote to confirm the total for your format.

Is the training a good investment for my organisation?

Yes. DFSS reduces late redesign, rework and warranty cost by designing quality in from the start, and it gives teams a shared DMADV language across design, quality and manufacturing. For teams working on new products, that return builds quickly. Ask about group pricing to plan a programme.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for this DFSS course?

No. This is a practical, non-certification skills course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on tool exercises, case study examples and team discussion during the programme, so you leave able to apply the DMADV method and DFSS tools at work.

Will I receive anything on completion?

Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. No formal credential is awarded by an external body, because the training builds practical design-quality skills rather than preparing you for a certification exam.

How am I assessed during the training?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply the tools through practical exercises: flowing VOC down to CTQs, building a QFD House of Quality, running a Pugh selection and completing a Design FMEA worksheet on realistic design scenarios.

How long is the training and what is the format?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours) and covers all six DFSS modules, from DMADV foundations through Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. It is available live virtual, in the classroom and as corporate onsite training, with hands-on exercises throughout.

How does DFSS relate to my Six Sigma or quality work?

DFSS is the design counterpart to DMAIC. If you already improve existing processes, DFSS adds the methodology to design new ones correctly from the start. It complements Lean Six Sigma and Minitab skills, which handle the statistical analysis within DFSS projects.

    Course Content

What topics does the DFSS syllabus cover?

The course covers DFSS versus DMAIC and the DMADV roadmap, the Define phase (project charter, VOC, Kano), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down, QFD), the Analyse phase (concept selection, Design FMEA), the Design phase (robust design, P-diagram, DFMA) and the Verify phase (verification, validation, design scorecard, transfer).

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to apply the DMADV roadmap to a design project, run a VOC and Kano analysis, translate needs into CTQs, build a QFD House of Quality, use the Pugh matrix, conduct a Design FMEA, apply robust design and plan design verification and validation.

Are there hands-on exercises in the course?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day. You practise VOC to CTQ flow-down, QFD House of Quality construction, the Pugh concept selection matrix and a Design FMEA worksheet, all applied to realistic product or process design scenarios.

Does the course cover QFD, DFMEA and robust design?

Yes. Quality Function Deployment (the House of Quality), Design FMEA with RPN prioritisation, and robust design using the P-diagram and Taguchi principles are core parts of the syllabus, alongside VOC, CTQ flow-down and the Pugh concept selection matrix.

Can a beginner follow the material?

Yes. The course introduces DFSS and every tool from first principles, so no prior DFSS experience is needed. Case study examples and guided exercises help beginners and experienced engineers alike apply each concept during the day.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the DFSS course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, course materials and joining details. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a format.

What training formats are available in Spain?

The course is available as live virtual instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate onsite training for teams. Choose the format that fits your schedule and how your team prefers to learn.

    How soon can I start?

New public schedules run regularly, and corporate sessions are arranged to fit your team's availability. See upcoming schedules to find the next batch, or contact us to plan an onsite programme in Spain.

Can I book this as onsite training for my team?

Yes. Corporate onsite training is available across Spain, with the exercises tailored to your own live design projects. This works well because your team can apply VOC, QFD and Design FMEA to real work during the session. Request a group quote to arrange it.

What is the reschedule or cancellation policy?

Rescheduling and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans offer flexible options to move to another batch. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
