What Is Quality Function Deployment Training?UntitledA Customer-Driven Design Skill

Quality Function Deployment Training in Algeria is a practical, one-day programme that teaches you how to turn customer requirements into clear design and engineering decisions. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a structured, customer-driven methodology that translates the Voice of the Customer into measurable technical characteristics at every stage of product and service development. Developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno and first applied at Mitsubishi's Kobe Shipyard in 1972, QFD is built around the House of Quality, a planning matrix that links what customers want to how a product or service will deliver it. This is a hands-on skills course with no examination and no awarding body; you build capability you can use the very next day. For engineers and product teams in Algeria's growing automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical and agro-food sectors, QFD is a direct route to fewer design reworks, faster launches and products that genuinely match customer needs. Start building customer-driven design skills with Invensis Learning.

Why Algerian Employers Need Customer-Driven Design

    Automotive Localisation Push

Stellantis and Fiat are driving local-content rates toward 30-35% by 2026, so Algerian suppliers must translate carmaker requirements into precise part and process characteristics, exactly what QFD is built to do.

QFD translates OEM needs into part specifications

    Import-Substitution Pressure

As Algeria pushes domestic manufacturing over imports, firms must design products right the first time. QFD closes the gap between what customers need and what engineers specify.

QFD reduces design reworks and launch risk

    Pharmaceutical Self-Sufficiency

Saidal, Biopharm and other producers are expanding local pharmaceutical output. QFD structures the translation of patient and clinical needs into critical quality attributes and process controls.

QFD links patient needs to quality characteristics

    Electronics Design Competition

Condor, ENIEM and Iris compete across North Africa on features and reliability. Customer-driven design cuts the risk of launching products the market does not want.

QFD makes products match what customers value

    Structured Design-Skills Gap

Algeria has a deep pool of engineers but few trained in structured Voice of the Customer methods. QFD skills stand out and help teams work from one customer-focused framework.

QFD gives teams a shared, repeatable method

    Cost and Rework Pressure

Margin pressure in manufacturing means fewer affordable design iterations. QFD surfaces conflicts and priorities early in the House of Quality, before expensive prototype changes.

QFD cuts late, costly design changes

QFD is more than a tool. It is how customer-driven teams design products right the first time. Join professionals in Algeria who turn the Voice of the Customer into clear engineering targets. Start building the skill today.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Quality Function Deployment is a structured, customer-driven methodology that translates the Voice of the Customer into measurable engineering and process characteristics. Its main tool is the House of Quality, a matrix that links what customers want to how a product or service will deliver it.

Quality Function Deployment is a structured, customer-driven methodology that translates the Voice of the Customer into measurable engineering and process characteristics. Its main tool is the House of Quality, a matrix that links what customers want to how a product or service will deliver it.

The course suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, R&D professionals, and Lean Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone in automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical or agro-food manufacturing who needs to translate customer needs into design specifications.

Yes. As Algeria scales local manufacturing and automotive content, employers need engineers who can design around the customer. QFD skills reduce rework, speed up launches and are valued across the country's product and quality roles. Talk to a learning advisor to see how it fits your goals.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with product development or quality management helps, but the course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles, so beginners and experienced professionals both benefit.

QFD was developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno and first applied at Mitsubishi's Kobe Shipyard in 1972. The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix, with six rooms that connect customer requirements to engineering characteristics, targets and competitive benchmarks.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment (QFD)?

Quality Function Deployment is a structured, customer-driven methodology that translates the Voice of the Customer into measurable engineering and process characteristics. Its main tool is the House of Quality, a matrix that links what customers want to how a product or service will deliver it.

Who should attend this QFD training in Algeria?

The course suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, R&D professionals, and Lean Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone in automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical or agro-food manufacturing who needs to translate customer needs into design specifications.

Is QFD worth learning for professionals in Algeria?

Yes. As Algeria scales local manufacturing and automotive content, employers need engineers who can design around the customer. QFD skills reduce rework, speed up launches and are valued across the country's product and quality roles. Talk to a learning advisor to see how it fits your goals.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with product development or quality management helps, but the course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles, so beginners and experienced professionals both benefit.

Who developed QFD and what is the House of Quality?

QFD was developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno and first applied at Mitsubishi's Kobe Shipyard in 1972. The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix, with six rooms that connect customer requirements to engineering characteristics, targets and competitive benchmarks.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training cost in Algeria?

Pricing depends on the delivery format and whether you enrol individually or as a group. Fees are available on request. Contact us for a quote tailored to your team and preferred schedule.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, course materials and templates, learner support, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for product, quality and R&D teams. Request a group quote and we will tailor the programme to your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Are fees quoted in Algerian dinars or US dollars?

Training is quoted according to your region and chosen format. For teams in Algeria we can provide a quote in Algerian dinars. Contact us to confirm the current pricing for your preferred delivery mode.

    Assessment

Is there an exam or formal assessment?

No. This is a practical, non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

What do I receive on completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. More importantly, you leave able to capture the Voice of the Customer, build a House of Quality and cascade QFD through parts, process and production planning.

Is QFD linked to a governing body or awarding organisation?

No. QFD is an open, widely used methodology with no single awarding body. This training builds practical skills grounded in the established QFD body of knowledge and the House of Quality, rather than preparing you for a formal credential.

How is learning reinforced without a test?

Through practice. You work through Voice of the Customer structuring, a Kano model exercise, and a full House of Quality built from a realistic product or service scenario, so you apply each concept as you learn it.

Will this help with my Lean Six Sigma projects?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma (DMADV Measure phase) and is used in the DMAIC Define phase to translate the Voice of the Customer into critical-to-quality requirements. The skills apply directly to Green Belt and Black Belt work.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The course covers six modules: QFD principles and origins, capturing the Voice of the Customer, building the House of Quality, interpreting and using it, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design.

    How long is the training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering all six QFD modules with concept explanations and hands-on exercises. It can also be delivered as two half-day sessions to suit team schedules.

    Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on House of Quality construction runs throughout the day. You capture and structure customer requirements, weight them with the Kano model, and build and interpret a complete QFD matrix during the session.

Does QFD apply to services and software as well as products?

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers its use in services such as healthcare and financial services, and in software development. The House of Quality applies wherever customer needs must be translated into delivery specifications.

    What delivery formats are available?

The training is available as classroom, live online (instructor-led) and corporate on-site sessions. Choose the format that fits your schedule; teams in Algeria can also arrange fully on-site delivery.

How do I enrol in the QFD course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, course materials and learning resources. Reach out if you would like help choosing the right option.

What schedules and modes are available?

Can I train my whole team in Algeria?

Yes. We deliver on-site and live virtual corporate training for product, quality and R&D teams across Algeria, tailored to your own products. Request a group quote to get started.
