What Is Design for Six Sigma?UntitledA Practical Route to First-Time Quality

Design for Six Sigma Training in Algeria is a hands-on, one-day programme that shows engineering and quality teams how to design new products, services and processes to Six Sigma quality levels from the very start. Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) follows the structured DMADV roadmap (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify): it captures the voice of the customer, translates needs into measurable critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements, and builds quality in rather than inspecting defects out later. Unlike DMAIC, which improves processes that already exist, DFSS is the design counterpart that gets the design right the first time. Across the day you apply the core toolkit: VOC and the Kano model, Quality Function Deployment (QFD), the Pugh concept-selection matrix, Design FMEA (DFMEA), robust design and design verification, all on realistic product and process scenarios. As Algeria accelerates local manufacturing integration, pharmaceutical import substitution and non-hydrocarbon exports, employers increasingly need people who can design first-time quality into new products. This programme gives designers, R&D staff, quality and manufacturing engineers that capability. Start building design excellence with Invensis Learning.

Design for Six Sigma training is a practical skills programme that teaches you how to design new products, services and processes to Six Sigma quality levels from the start. It covers the DMADV roadmap and core tools such as VOC, QFD, DFMEA and robust design.

It suits product and design engineers, R&D professionals, quality and manufacturing engineers, new product development managers, and Six Sigma Green Belts or Black Belts who want to add design skills. Anyone designing new products or processes in Algeria's industry will benefit.

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products or processes correctly from the outset using the DMADV roadmap. Organisations often use both: DMAIC to improve what exists, DFSS to design what is new. This course covers DFSS.

No. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma ideas such as CTQ and variation is helpful but not required. The programme introduces all DFSS-specific tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

Yes. As Algeria grows local manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and non-oil exports, employers value people who can design first-time quality into new products. DFSS skills help you cut rework and warranty cost and open design, quality and R&D roles.

    General

What is Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training?

Design for Six Sigma training is a practical skills programme that teaches you how to design new products, services and processes to Six Sigma quality levels from the start. It covers the DMADV roadmap and core tools such as VOC, QFD, DFMEA and robust design.

Who should attend this DFSS programme in Algeria?

It suits product and design engineers, R&D professionals, quality and manufacturing engineers, new product development managers, and Six Sigma Green Belts or Black Belts who want to add design skills. Anyone designing new products or processes in Algeria's industry will benefit.

What is the difference between DFSS and DMAIC?

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products or processes correctly from the outset using the DMADV roadmap. Organisations often use both: DMAIC to improve what exists, DFSS to design what is new. This course covers DFSS.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge to attend?

No. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma ideas such as CTQ and variation is helpful but not required. The programme introduces all DFSS-specific tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

Is Design for Six Sigma worth it for engineers in Algeria?

Yes. As Algeria grows local manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and non-oil exports, employers value people who can design first-time quality into new products. DFSS skills help you cut rework and warranty cost and open design, quality and R&D roles.

    Pricing

How much does Design for Six Sigma training cost in Algeria?

Pricing varies by delivery format (live virtual, classroom or corporate on-site) and group size, so the fee is available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for a quote tailored to you or your team.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led delivery of the full one-day programme, course materials, hands-on DFSS tool exercises, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Confirm the exact inclusions when you enquire.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for engineering, R&D and quality teams. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

Are there discounts for teams in Algeria?

Group rates are available when you train several people together, and on-site delivery is often the most cost-effective option for a team. Request a quote and we will suggest the best format for your budget.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and corporate bookings can be invoiced. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for this DFSS course?

No. Design for Six Sigma training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on tool exercises, case examples and team discussion during the programme.

Will I get a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. This recognises attendance and participation; it is not a formal certification from an awarding body.

Is Design for Six Sigma a certification?

No. This is a practical, vendor-neutral skills course with no certifying body or credential. It builds DFSS methodology and tool skills you can apply immediately to design projects.

How am I assessed during the programme?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply DFSS tools such as VOC, CTQ flow-down, QFD, the Pugh matrix and DFMEA to realistic design scenarios throughout the day, so learning is practical and applied.

How is learning reinforced without an exam?

Learning is reinforced through guided exercises, real-world design case examples and trainer-led discussion. You practise each DMADV tool on realistic scenarios so you can use it confidently at work.

    Course Content

What topics does the DFSS training cover?

The programme covers DFSS versus DMAIC, the full DMADV roadmap, the Define phase (VOC, Kano, charter), Measure (CTQ flow-down, QFD), Analyse (concept generation, Pugh matrix, DFMEA), Design (robust design, P-diagram, DFMA) and Verify (verification, validation, design scorecard, transfer).

What tools will I learn to use?

You learn to apply Voice of the Customer and the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment (House of Quality), the Pugh concept-selection matrix, Design FMEA with RPN, robust design and the P-diagram, and design verification and validation methods.

    How long is the programme?

The training runs for one day (8 hours), and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions. It covers all six DMADV phases with hands-on tool exercises throughout.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You work through practical exercises including VOC to CTQ flow-down, building a House of Quality, running a Pugh concept selection and completing a DFMEA worksheet, all on realistic product or process design scenarios.

    What materials are provided?

You receive structured course materials covering the DMADV methodology and each DFSS tool, worked examples, and exercise templates you can reuse on your own design projects after the training.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the DFSS course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website or by contacting our team. Choose your preferred format and schedule, and you will receive access details and course materials. Talk to a learning advisor to get started.

What training formats are available in Algeria?

The course is available as online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate on-site delivery, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and team.

Can the course be delivered on-site for my team?

Yes. Corporate on-site delivery is available for engineering, R&D and quality teams in Algeria, and works especially well because participants can apply DFSS tools to their own live design projects. Ask about corporate training for a tailored plan.

    When can I start?

New public sessions and corporate dates are scheduled regularly. See upcoming schedules or contact a learning advisor to find the next available date that suits you or your team.

Can I reschedule my enrolment to another session?

Yes. You can reschedule to another available session where needed. Contact our support team and we will help you move to a date that works for you.
