What Is the PMI-ACP and Who Should Earn It?UntitledA Multi-Framework Agile Credential

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is the Project Management Institute's cross-framework agile credential, and PMI-ACP certification training in the Dominican Republic prepares you to earn it with confidence. Unlike single-framework certificates, it validates capability across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), aligned to the Agile Manifesto and the PMI Agile Practice Guide. The programme is built on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (ECO), published January 2018, which organises the exam into seven agile domains from Agile Principles and Mindset through to Continuous Improvement. You gain the tools and techniques the credential validates, plus the 21 contact hours of agile education PMI requires to apply. It suits scrum masters, agile project managers, product owners and delivery leads across the Dominican Republic's fast-growing nearshore IT, banking and telecommunications sectors. If you already work in agile or hybrid teams and want a globally recognised, experience-backed credential, this is a clear next step. Start your agile journey with Invensis Learning.

Why Agile Talent Is in Demand Across the Dominican Republic

    Nearshore Delivery Expectations

US clients working with Dominican teams expect mature agile and DevOps practice. Certified practitioners give firms the disciplined delivery that wins and keeps nearshore contracts.

    PMI-ACP builds cross-framework agile capability

    The Digital Banking Race

The Dominican Republic's leading banks compete on digital products and mobile apps. Iterative, value-focused delivery needs practitioners who can prioritise and ship value fast.

    PMI-ACP builds value-driven delivery skills

    Agile Talent Scarcity

The country has a deep developer pool but far fewer credentialed agile leaders. The PMI-ACP's experience prerequisites make holders rare and sought after by employers.

PMI-ACP makes certified practitioners stand out

    Scaling Beyond Pilot Teams

Many organisations run a few agile squads but struggle to scale the practice. Practitioners who can coach teams and standardise ways of working close that gap.

PMI-ACP builds team performance and coaching skills

    Value Leakage in Transformation

Programmes get funded, but weak links between strategy and the delivered mix cause value leakage. Value-driven delivery skills help teams focus on the highest-value work.

PMI-ACP builds prioritisation and MVP skills

    Real-Time Collaboration Pressure

Time-zone alignment with the US East Coast enables real-time agile, but only disciplined facilitation and stakeholder engagement turn that advantage into steady delivery.

    Now you have

Cross-framework fluency across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD

    Now you have

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is PMI's cross-framework agile credential. It validates experience and knowledge across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD, so it suits scrum masters, product owners, agile project managers and team members who work in iterative or hybrid delivery.

    General

What is the PMI-ACP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is PMI's cross-framework agile credential. It validates experience and knowledge across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD, so it suits scrum masters, product owners, agile project managers and team members who work in iterative or hybrid delivery.

Is the PMI-ACP worth it for professionals in the Dominican Republic?

Yes. As the Dominican Republic grows as a nearshore hub for US clients, employers in IT, banking and telecoms increasingly prefer certified agile practitioners. The credential proves cross-framework capability and can open scrum master, agile coach and delivery lead roles with stronger pay.

    Is the PMI-ACP recognised internationally?

Yes. PMI is a globally recognised body with members in over 200 countries, and the PMI-ACP is respected worldwide as a rigorous, experience-backed agile credential that travels across sectors and borders.

How is the PMI-ACP different from a Scrum-only certificate?

The PMI-ACP spans multiple frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD, rather than a single one. This makes it broader than Scrum-only certificates and better suited to teams that blend approaches across different projects.

How long is the PMI-ACP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-ACP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 30 PDUs (Professional Development Units) in agile topics within the cycle and report them through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system, then pay the renewal fee.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-ACP training cost in the Dominican Republic?

Training fees vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Your fee covers PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Talk to a learning advisor for a quote.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 24 contact hours of training, practice questions, full-length mock exams, application guidance and post-training support, plus a course completion certificate. The exam fee is not included.

How much is the PMI-ACP exam fee?

PMI bills the exam separately in USD, with member and non-member rates (for reference, around USD 435 for members and USD 495 for non-members); confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and includes free resources such as the Agile Practice Guide.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for delivery squads, PMOs and departments across the Dominican Republic. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

The PMI-ACP is a closed-book exam of 120 multiple-choice questions taken over a three-hour allotted time. Questions are distributed across the seven agile domains defined in the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (ECO), published January 2018.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile experience within the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

Does this training meet the 21 contact hours requirement?

Yes. The programme provides 24 contact hours of agile education, which exceeds the 21 contact hours PMI requires and fully satisfies the training prerequisite for the PMI-ACP application.

What is the passing score, and what if I do not pass?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard rather than a fixed percentage, and reports domain-level feedback. You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window, so our mock exams and practice questions help you prepare thoroughly for the first sitting.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctored system or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE once your application is approved.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-ACP training cover?

The training covers all seven ECO domains: Agile Principles and Mindset, Value-Driven Delivery, Stakeholder Engagement, Team Performance, Adaptive Planning, Problem Detection and Resolution, and Continuous Improvement, plus tools and techniques across Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

Anyone can attend the training to build agile skills and earn the 24 contact hours. To sit the exam, though, PMI requires documented project and agile experience, and our trainers guide you on how to record those hours for your application.

    What learning resources are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware mapped to the current ECO, practice questions, full-length mock exams, references to the Agile Practice Guide, and topic-wise quizzes to reinforce each domain and build exam readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PMI-ACP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018, which remains the current ECO, and to the broad agile reference set PMI lists for the exam.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. After completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate confirming the 24 contact hours of agile education, which you can use toward your PMI-ACP application.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PMI-ACP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. A learning advisor can help you pick the right batch.

What training formats are available in the Dominican Republic?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom sessions and customised corporate group training. This lets professionals in Santo Domingo, Santiago and across the country choose the format that fits their schedule.

    How soon can I start?

New batches run regularly across live online and classroom formats. See upcoming schedules on our website or speak with a learning advisor to confirm the next available cohort that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations follow our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
