What Is Kanban and How Will This Training Help YouUntitledVisual Workflow Skills for Real Teams

The Kanban Training in the Dominican Republic is a practical, one-day skills course that teaches you how to manage the flow of work using visual signals and pull-based scheduling. You learn to make work visible, limit work in progress (WIP) and move tasks smoothly from request to done, whether on a factory line or an Agile software board. Kanban began in the Toyota Production System, where Taiichi Ohno used simple cards to trigger production only when real demand appeared, cutting overproduction and excess stock. David J. Anderson later adapted the same ideas for knowledge work, giving IT, software and service teams boards, WIP limits and flow metrics to shorten lead times. This course is built for professionals across the country's free-zone manufacturers, supply chain operations and fast-growing nearshore technology sector. There is no exam. You finish with hands-on skills and a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

What You Gain from Learning KanbanSkills That Pay off on the Job

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kanban training helps you turn a busy, overloaded workflow into a smooth, predictable one. You learn to visualise work, set sensible WIP limits and pull tasks only when there is real capacity, so less time is lost to multitasking and waiting. Whether you run a production line in a free-zone plant, manage a supply chain, or lead a software or service team, the practical exercises let you design a real Kanban system for your own work during the course.

If you want a hands-on skill you can use straight away, Kanban is a strong choice. You leave able to size kanban loops, build a board with WIP limits, measure flow and plan a rollout, with no exam to sit and no renewal to track.

    • Deliver work faster by limiting WIP and clearing bottlenecks
    • Design manufacturing pull systems that cut overproduction and stock
    • Build Kanban boards that make your team's workflow visible to everyone
    • Use lead time, cycle time and throughput to improve flow with data
    • Read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot where work is stuck
    • Apply Scrumban to blend Kanban flow with Scrum cadence
    • Become the go-to continuous-improvement voice on your team
    • Gain a portable skill valued across manufacturing, IT and services
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Kanban group training helps organisations build a consistent, visual approach to managing work. Teams learn to cap work in progress, pull tasks in line with capacity and measure flow, which steadies delivery and reduces waste. For manufacturers, logistics operations and technology teams, the training can be tailored to real workflows, so participants design boards and pull loops for their own processes during the sessions.

If your operation struggles with long lead times, hidden work or stockpiles between steps, Kanban gives your teams a shared method to fix it. The result is smoother flow, better capacity decisions and a culture that improves from evidence, not opinion.

    • Shorten lead times and improve delivery predictability across teams
    • Reduce inventory and overproduction on the production floor
    • Give managers a shared, visual language for managing flow
    • Expose bottlenecks early so they can be resolved, not hidden
    • Standardise pull-based practice across sites and departments
    • Improve capacity planning by making real workloads visible
    • Support Lean and continuous-improvement goals with a proven method
    • Build in-house flow expertise instead of relying on outside consultants

Where Kanban Can Take Your CareerDemand in the Dominican Republic

Kanban skills are valued wherever the Dominican Republic makes things or ships software. Free-zone manufacturers in medical devices, textiles and electronics use pull systems and WIP control to cut waste, while the nearshore technology sector runs Agile boards and flow metrics to deliver faster. That opens roles from Production Supervisor and Continuous Improvement Lead to Operations Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Scrum Master and Software Delivery Manager, and here is what the market is telling us right now.

The Workflow Problems Kanban Solves for Dominican Employers

    Overproduction and Excess Inventory

Free-zone plants often build ahead of demand, tying up cash in stock and hiding defects. Kanban authorises work only when there is real pull, cutting overproduction at the source.

Kanban builds pull-system and JIT skills

    Long Software Delivery Lead Times

Nearshore teams face pressure to release quickly for North American clients. Limiting WIP and measuring flow shortens lead times without asking people to simply work faster.

Kanban builds flow-metrics and WIP skills

    Quality Pressure in Medical Devices

As a top exporter of medical devices to the US, the country holds tight quality standards. Visual pull systems expose problems early and stop defects moving downstream.

Kanban builds visual-control and flow skills

    Fragmented Supply Chains

Materials move between suppliers, ports and plants with little visibility. Kanban replenishment loops and supermarkets align supply to actual usage and reduce shortages.

Kanban builds replenishment and sizing skills

    Scarce Continuous-Improvement Talent

Employers want people who can design and run pull systems, yet trained flow practitioners are hard to find. Kanban skills make you visibly useful on any improvement team.

Kanban makes trained practitioners stand out

Invisible Work in Services and BPO

Service and back-office teams juggle hidden queues and overload. A Kanban board with WIP limits makes the whole workload visible and turns firefighting into steady flow.

The Kanban Skills You Will BuildFrom the Factory Floor to the Agile Board

This training gives you practical, applied capability across both manufacturing and knowledge-work Kanban. By the end of the one-day programme you can design pull systems, build boards with WIP limits, measure flow and plan a real rollout.

    Pull vs Push Production

Skills covered in Kanban training start here: understand why push scheduling creates overproduction and how pull systems and Just-in-Time authorise work only when downstream demand appears, using the visual kanban signal.

    Manufacturing Kanban System Design

Design production and withdrawal kanban loops, one-bin and two-bin systems and supermarkets. Calculate kanban quantities and card counts, and apply the six Toyota Production System kanban rules on the floor.

    Kanban Boards and WIP Limits

Build a knowledge-work Kanban board with columns, swimlanes and classes of service. Set work in progress limits that force teams to finish before starting, so flow improves and bottlenecks surface.

    Flow Metrics and the CFD

Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, and apply Little's Law to link WIP to speed. Read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot where work piles up and confirm whether changes are working.

    Scrumban and Agile Delivery

Combine Kanban flow and WIP limits with Scrum cadence to run Scrumban, and see how team Kanban boards fit within Agile and scaled delivery for software, IT and service teams.

    Implementing and Sustaining Kanban

Apply the start with what you do now principle to roll out Kanban in manufacturing or knowledge work, manage demand and capacity, and keep WIP limits and kanban quantities improving over time.

Yes. Kanban skills are in demand across the country's free-zone manufacturers, supply chain operations and fast-growing nearshore technology sector. You gain a practical method to cut waste, shorten lead times and manage flow, which is valued in production, IT and service roles alike.

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing work. It uses signals such as cards, bins or boards to authorise work only when there is real demand or capacity. In manufacturing it triggers production and replenishment; in knowledge work it caps work in progress and improves flow.

The course suits production managers, manufacturing and industrial engineers, supply chain and operations staff, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, IT and software managers, project managers and service delivery leads. Anyone who manages the flow of work will benefit.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations helps for the manufacturing modules, but the course introduces every Kanban concept from first principles, so beginners are welcome.

Yes. It covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System, including kanban cards, supermarkets and sizing, and knowledge-work Kanban for software, IT and services, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and Scrumban.

    General

Is Kanban training worth it in the Dominican Republic?

Yes. Kanban skills are in demand across the country's free-zone manufacturers, supply chain operations and fast-growing nearshore technology sector. You gain a practical method to cut waste, shorten lead times and manage flow, which is valued in production, IT and service roles alike.

What is Kanban and how does it work?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based system for managing work. It uses signals such as cards, bins or boards to authorise work only when there is real demand or capacity. In manufacturing it triggers production and replenishment; in knowledge work it caps work in progress and improves flow.

Who should attend this Kanban course?

The course suits production managers, manufacturing and industrial engineers, supply chain and operations staff, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, IT and software managers, project managers and service delivery leads. Anyone who manages the flow of work will benefit.

Do I need prior experience to learn Kanban?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations helps for the manufacturing modules, but the course introduces every Kanban concept from first principles, so beginners are welcome.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. It covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System, including kanban cards, supermarkets and sizing, and knowledge-work Kanban for software, IT and services, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and Scrumban.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training cost in the Dominican Republic?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, whether individual or corporate, and group size, so it is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote and upcoming schedules.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six Kanban modules, hands-on design exercises, structured courseware, reusable templates, learner support and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote for full inclusions.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for manufacturing, logistics and technology teams. Contact us for a group quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is this a good return on investment for teams?

For most teams, yes. Shorter lead times, lower inventory and more predictable delivery usually pay back the training quickly. Because participants design Kanban for their own work during the course, benefits often appear within weeks. Ask about corporate pricing.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Kanban training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban design exercises, real-world examples and group discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. No external credential is awarded, because Kanban training has no governing body or certification exam. The value is the practical, immediately usable skills you gain.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply concepts through practical exercises such as kanban quantity calculation, loop design, board design and WIP limit setting, so you can check your understanding against realistic scenarios.

Will I be able to apply Kanban straight after the course?

Yes. By the end you can design a manufacturing pull loop or a knowledge-work Kanban board, size kanban quantities, set WIP limits, measure flow and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram, ready to use in your own workplace.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the Kanban syllabus?

The course covers Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge-work boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

How long is the Kanban training?

The programme runs for one day, totalling eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-days. Hands-on Kanban design exercises run throughout, alongside manufacturing and knowledge-work case examples.

    What practical exercises are included?

You practise push versus pull identification, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design for a manufacturing scenario, Agile board design for a software or IT scenario, WIP limit setting and Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation.
