    Is there an exam for the QFD course?

    No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

    Do I receive a certificate after the training?

    You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. No formal credential is awarded by an external body, because QFD training is a practical skills course rather than a certification.

    How is my learning assessed during the course?

    Learning is assessed informally through practical exercises rather than a test. You build and interpret a House of Quality, structure the Voice of the Customer and calculate engineering priorities, so you demonstrate the skills as you go.

    What will I be able to do after completing the training?

    Afterwards you can capture and structure the Voice of the Customer, build a complete House of Quality, calculate column importance, resolve design conflicts, cascade QFD through four phases, and apply QFD within DFSS and DMAIC projects.

    How long is the QFD training?

    The course runs for one day, totalling eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers QFD foundations, the Voice of the Customer, the full House of Quality, HoQ interpretation, four-phase cascading and QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and services.

    Course Content

    What topics does the QFD syllabus cover?

    The syllabus covers QFD principles and origins, the Voice of the Customer and Kano model, building the six rooms of the House of Quality, interpreting the matrix, cascading QFD through product planning, parts deployment, process planning and production control, and applying QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design.

    Are there hands-on exercises in the course?

    Yes. Hands-on House of Quality construction runs throughout the day. You structure the Voice of the Customer with affinity diagrams, classify needs with the Kano model, build a matrix from a realistic scenario and calculate design priorities.

    Does the course cover QFD for services and software?

    Yes. While QFD originated in manufacturing, the course covers applications in services such as healthcare and financial services, as well as software development, since the House of Quality applies wherever customer needs must become specifications.

    How does QFD relate to Six Sigma?

    QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma, used in the DMADV Measure phase to translate the Voice of the Customer into critical-to-quality requirements, and in the DMAIC Define phase to scope projects. The course shows how to apply QFD within both.

    What materials are provided with the course?

    You receive structured course materials, House of Quality templates and worked examples you can reuse at work. These support you in running your own QFD workshops after the training.
