Why Danish Construction Employers Value Certified Project Leaders

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Danish megaprojects like the Fehmarn Belt link run multi-contractor, cross-border contracts where claims and variations escalate fast, demanding strong contract management skill.

    PMI-CP builds contract management expertise

    Green Transition Delivery Pressure

Offshore wind, energy islands and circular-build targets push contractors to deliver complex, first-of-a-kind projects that need disciplined scope and governance control.

PMI-CP builds scope and governance skills

    Pharma and Industrial Megaprojects

Large pharmaceutical facility expansions in Denmark bring strict quality, regulatory and stakeholder demands that reward construction-specific project leadership.

    PMI-CP builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Data Centre Build-Out Speed

Denmark's fast-growing data centre pipeline compresses schedules and tightens supplier coordination, exposing gaps in structured construction project governance.

    PMI-CP builds project governance skills

    Certified Talent Shortage

Denmark has many skilled engineers but few holders of a construction-specific project management credential, making certified leaders rare and sought-after.

PMI-CP makes certified leaders stand out

    Stakeholder and Regulatory Load

Public infrastructure and building projects in Denmark answer to regulators, municipalities and communities, where weak stakeholder engagement drives delay and cost.

PMI-CP builds stakeholder and communication skills

How to Get PMI-CP Certified in DenmarkStep-by-Step Certification Process

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in Denmark is a structured single-exam track. You must complete the four-module training, document 3 years of construction or built-environment project experience earned within the past 10 years, then pass the 120-question, 230-minute PMI-CP exam delivered by PMI through Pearson VUE. From initial training to earning the PMI-CP designation typically takes 1-3 months.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for construction project management. It validates your ability to manage contracts, stakeholders, scope and governance across the construction lifecycle, tested across four domains and based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO).

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) certification?

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist credential for construction project management. It validates your ability to manage contracts, stakeholders, scope and governance across the construction lifecycle, tested across four domains and based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO).

Who should take PMI-CP certification training in Denmark?

It suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers, contracts specialists and owner's representatives who want globally recognised, construction-specific credentials. PMP is not required, though the two credentials complement each other well.

Is PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Denmark?

Yes. With the Fehmarn Belt link, offshore wind, pharma and data-centre projects driving demand, employers value certified construction leaders. Project managers in Denmark average around kr 665,000, with senior and director roles paying more. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Is PMP required before PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite. You can pursue the credential directly based on your construction experience and education. PMP validates general project management, while PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise, and many professionals hold both.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

It is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) within each three-year cycle, and the 56 PDUs from the four mandatory modules can count toward renewal.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-CP training fee?

The training fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, instruction across all four domains, practice questions, mock exams, and guidance on the mandatory modules and PMI application. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing in Denmark.

How much does the PMI-CP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD under regional pricing. For reference it is around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, though figures vary, so confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost.

Are the four mandatory modules included in the price?

The four self-paced modules are purchased through PMI and their pricing varies by region and membership status. Our training focuses on exam preparation and application guidance; ask an advisor how the modules fit your plan.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction teams and PMOs. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose what suits you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and a total time of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and weights?

Four domains per the ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts management is the largest and most heavily tested area.

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-CP?

You complete four mandatory self-paced modules, plus one of three sets: a high school diploma with 60 months construction PM experience; a bachelor's degree with 36 months; or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. All sets require 35 contact hours of PM education.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam in Denmark?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done via PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your one-year eligibility window.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts; confirm current amounts at pmi.org. Our practice tests and trainer support help you prepare thoroughly.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-CP training?

You will learn to manage construction contracts, claims and variations, engage stakeholders, control scope, schedule and budget, and govern projects, all mapped to the four ECO domains and the current PMBOK Guide.

Does the training satisfy the 35 contact hours prerequisite?

The core programme provides around 32 contact hours, close to but below the 35 required across all eligibility sets. Ask our advisors how supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PMI-CP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the current PMBOK Guide, so you prepare against the most up-to-date exam content.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams built to the 120-question, closed-book format, plus quizzes to help you find and fix weak areas.

Do I need construction experience to attend the training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires construction project management experience under one of its three eligibility sets, so the training also guides you on documenting that experience.
