Market Forces Driving PgMP Demand in Denmark

    Green Transition Complexity

Denmark's offshore wind and cleantech ambitions run as multi-year, multi-project programmes. Coordinating benefits, risk and stakeholders at this scale is exactly what the PgMP is built to govern.

PgMP builds programme risk and coordination skills

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards fund pharma, digital and infrastructure programmes, but weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that certified programme leaders are hired to fix.

PgMP builds strategic alignment and benefits skills

    Programme Talent Scarcity

Denmark has a deep pool of project managers but far fewer credentialed programme managers. PgMP's advanced eligibility and panel review make holders rare and sought-after.

PgMP makes certified programme leaders stand out

    PMO Maturity Pressure

As Danish PMOs evolve from delivery tracking into strategic transformation functions, employers need leaders who can govern programmes and connect delivery to organisational strategy.

PgMP builds governance and stakeholder skills

    Digital and Skills Shortage

A shortage of digital and green skills lengthens hiring for senior programme roles. Credentialed programme managers who can lead transformation at scale are in short supply.

    PgMP builds programme leadership capability

    Cross-Border Delivery Pressure

Danish firms such as global shipping, pharma and wind leaders run programmes across many countries and vendors. Coordinating stakeholders and benefits at this scale demands programme-level discipline.

Shortlisted less often for roles that list PgMP as preferred

    After PgMP

Eligible for senior programme roles across pharma, energy, shipping and tech

    Today

Confident in delivery, but employers want programme-level governance

    After PgMP

Fluent in linking programmes to strategy and governing benefits at scale

Programme authority rests on tenure, not a recognised credential

    Now you have

A PMI programme credential recognised by leading Danish and global employers

    Before

Stuck at project or programme level with no formal mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into programme director and head of PMO roles

    Before

Delivery focused, with limited line of sight to strategy

    Now you have

The governance skills employers want: benefits, stakeholders and programme risk

    Before

Recognition fades when you change sector or employer

    Now you have

A globally recognised credential that travels across sectors and borders

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PgMP (Program Management Professional) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as a coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits senior programme managers, PMO leaders and PMP holders. Fewer than 3,000 professionals worldwide hold it.

    General

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The PgMP (Program Management Professional) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as a coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits senior programme managers, PMO leaders and PMP holders. Fewer than 3,000 professionals worldwide hold it.

Is the PgMP worth it for programme managers in Denmark?

Yes. In Denmark's high-salary market, the PgMP signals programme-level authority to pharma, energy, shipping and technology employers, opening roles such as programme director and head of PMO. It is a globally recognised PMI credential. Talk to a learning advisor about your path.

    Is PMP required before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

What are the prerequisites for the PgMP?

Three sets apply. Set A: secondary diploma, 48 months PM experience or PMP, plus 84 months programme experience. Set B: bachelor's degree, 48 months PM or PMP, plus 48 months programme experience. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree with reduced 36-month requirements. All experience within the past 15 years.

    Is the PgMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential it carries global recognition across more than 200 countries. Held by fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide, it is a distinctive marker of programme management excellence valued by senior employers in Denmark and abroad.

    Pricing

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Request a quote for current pricing in Denmark.

How much does PgMP training cost in Denmark?

PgMP training fees in Denmark are available on request and vary by format and schedule. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD. Contact a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members. Fees vary by region, so verify current rates at pmi.org. PMI membership (about USD 139 per year) reduces the exam cost and gives free access to The Standard for Program Management.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, transformation offices and leadership teams. Contact us for a tailored quote for your team.

    What payment options are available?

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our training and practice resources are designed to prepare you thoroughly so you can aim for a first-time pass.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is closed book with multiple-choice question formats, delivered online proctored via Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail, with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

Which standard is the PgMP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, published by PMI. Our courseware follows this current 4th Edition standard.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to benefit from PgMP training?

Anyone can join the training, but the PgMP credential itself targets experienced practitioners. The course suits senior programme managers, PMO leaders and PMP holders who already meet PMI's substantial experience requirements.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus application, panel-review and exam strategy.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PgMP syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The instructor-led programme provides 24 contact hours of training. The PgMP has no mandatory contact-hour prerequisite, so these hours consolidate knowledge and prepare you for the exam and panel review.
