Is a Minitab software licence included in the price?

Minitab statistical software is a separate commercial product from Minitab LLC, so you should have access to it during the training. Whether a trial licence is provided depends on the session, so please confirm with a learning advisor when you enrol.

Assessment

Is there an exam for Minitab Essentials Training?

No. This is a non-certification, skills-focused course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Minitab exercises throughout the programme, so you practise every technique rather than sit a test.

What do I receive on completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. More importantly, you leave with practical Minitab skills you can apply immediately to Six Sigma projects, SPC monitoring, capability reporting and quality improvement analyses.

How is my learning reinforced during the course?

Every module is taught through live software exercises on realistic quality and process datasets. You follow along in Minitab as each function is demonstrated, so proficiency comes from doing the analysis yourself, not from passive observation.

Will I be able to use Minitab at work straight away?

Yes. The course is built around practical application, so you finish able to import and manage data, build control charts and capability studies, run hypothesis tests and regression, and complete a Gauge R&R study on real workplace data.

Does the course prepare me for Six Sigma project work?

Yes. The techniques taught, from SPC and capability analysis to hypothesis testing and regression, are exactly those used in the Measure and Analyse phases of DMAIC, so the skills transfer directly into Green Belt and Black Belt projects.

Course Content

What will I learn in Minitab Essentials Training?

You will learn Minitab data management, descriptive statistics and quality graphs, hypothesis testing, statistical process control, process capability analysis, and regression and Gauge R&R. Every topic is delivered with hands-on exercises on realistic datasets.

How long is the training?

The programme runs for one day of eight hours in an intensive format, and can also be arranged as two half-days of four hours each. Both cover all six modules with live software exercises throughout.

Which Minitab tools and analyses are covered?

Coverage includes histograms, boxplots, Pareto and time series plots, t-tests, ANOVA and chi-square, I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C control charts, Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk capability indices, the Capability Sixpack, simple and multiple regression, and crossed Gauge R&R studies.

Is the training hands-on or theory based?

It is strongly hands-on. The instructor demonstrates each function while you follow along in Minitab on realistic quality datasets, so you build genuine software fluency rather than only learning concepts.

Can the content be tailored to our industry?

Yes. In corporate group sessions the exercises can use your own organisation's data and examples from your sector, whether that is automotive, pharma, electronics or machinery, so the training reflects the problems your team actually faces.
