What is the format of the PRINCE2 exams?

The Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, testing knowledge of the method. The Practitioner exam is open book with scenario-based questions, testing your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2. Both are delivered online proctored or at a test centre.

How many questions are in each PRINCE2 exam?

The Foundation exam has 60 questions and lasts 60 minutes. The Practitioner exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, lasting 150 minutes. Both are based on the PRINCE2 7 syllabus.

What is the passing score for the PRINCE2 exams?

Both exams require 60% to pass. That is 36 out of 60 for Foundation and 42 out of 70 marks for Practitioner. Our practice questions and mock exams help you build the mastery needed across the syllabus.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted during the Practitioner exam. You can refer to it while answering, but the questions require analysis and judgement, so time management matters more than look-up. Our training covers manual navigation techniques.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit either exam through PeopleCert. Our training includes practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance to build readiness, and selected plans offer retake support. Ask a learning advisor about the resit options in your package.
