What Is Driving Demand for PMI-CP Skills in Cyprus

    Construction Skills and Labour Shortage

Cyprus construction faces a widening skills gap, especially in project and contract management. Professionals who can run complex projects are scarce and increasingly sought after.

PMI-CP builds construction project management skill

    Rising Costs and Tighter Margins

Material and labour cost inflation squeezes budgets across the island. Employers need the disciplined scope, schedule and cost control that trained construction project managers provide.

PMI-CP builds scope and cost control skills

    Contract Complexity and Disputes

Claims, variations and delay disputes are common on Cyprus building and infrastructure works. Contracts management is the largest PMI-CP domain, exactly the capability the market lacks.

PMI-CP builds contracts and claims skills

    Major Public Infrastructure Delivery

With 26 state projects worth over 1.14 billion euros in the 2026 budget, agencies need managers who can coordinate stakeholders, risk and governance across large programmes.

PMI-CP builds governance and coordination skills

    Sustainability and Energy Compliance

EU and national energy-efficiency programmes such as KtiZO raise regulatory demands. Projects need managers who can engage authorities and govern compliance from the outset.

PMI-CP builds stakeholder and compliance skills

    Fast Private Development Pipeline

Luxury and mixed-use schemes across Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos are multiplying. Developers seek credentialed project leaders to protect quality, cost and timelines.

    Your Cyprus Career Transformation

Your Construction Career, Before and After PMI-CP

    The Upgrade Certification Delivers

Cyprus's construction market is expanding with record public investment and a busy private pipeline, and employers increasingly separate credentialed project leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Salary capped by role, with little leverage to negotiate in the Cyprus market

    After PMI-CP

Construction project manager pay in Cyprus averages around 45,000 euros, with contracts and senior roles reaching far higher

    Today

Overlooked for roles that list construction PM credentials as preferred

    After PMI-CP

Eligible for construction PM, contracts manager and owner's representative roles across the island

    Today

Confident on site, but employers want proven contract and governance skill

    After PMI-CP

Fluent in managing contracts, claims, stakeholders and risk on complex projects

    You earn your PMI-CP

    Before

Project authority rests on experience, not a recognised credential

    Now you have

A globally recognised PMI credential valued by Cyprus and international employers

    Before

Strong on delivery but limited on formal contract and claims management

    Now you have

Command of the contracts domain that makes up half of the PMI-CP exam

    Before

General project management skills that are not specific to construction

    Now you have

Construction-specific project management skill mapped to the PMI-CP ECO

    Before

Recognition that fades when you change employer or country

    Now you have

A credential that travels across sectors and international construction markets

"In construction, the gap between running projects and leading them is increasingly a recognised credential, and the employers that matter already know it."

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist certification for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

    General

    What is the PMI-CP certification?

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist certification for the construction industry. It validates your ability to apply project management in a construction environment across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%).

Who should take PMI-CP certification training in Cyprus?

It suits construction project managers, contracts managers, site and project engineers moving into project management, client-side project managers and construction consultants. It is ideal for professionals delivering building, civil or infrastructure projects who want a globally recognised, construction-specific credential.

    Is PMI-CP recognised in Cyprus?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued by contractors, developers and public agencies in Cyprus that deliver complex projects and seek project leaders with proven contract and governance skill.

Do I need a PMP before taking PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with PMP validating broad project management and PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How is PMI-CP different from a general PM certification?

PMI-CP focuses exclusively on construction, and its largest domain is Contracts Management at 50%, reflecting the centrality of contract administration, claims and disputes in the sector. A general credential covers all industries, while PMI-CP proves construction-specific delivery capability.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Cyprus?

Training fees vary by format, so pricing is available on request. The fee covers instruction, ECO-mapped courseware, practice questions and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the training price. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware mapped to the ECO, practice questions aligned to the 120-question exam, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the PMI application, and dedicated learner support with a course completion certificate.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately, in USD, under regional pricing (for reference, around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org). PMI membership can reduce the exam fee and provides access to PMI resources.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction and development teams, PMOs and leadership groups. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice formats, including single-answer and multiple-answer questions, distributed across the four domains in the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

How long is the PMI-CP exam?

You have 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes, to complete the 120-question exam. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains per the official ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the largest, so contract administration, claims and disputes carry significant weight.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

Where can I take the exam and how many attempts do I get?

You can sit the exam online via Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre. You have up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts; confirm current amounts with PMI.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers the four ECO domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. You learn contract types and delivery methods, claims and variations, stakeholder engagement, scope, schedule, risk and governance.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, candidates must complete four self-paced modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total that can be applied to renewal.

Which standard is the training aligned to?

The training is aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO) and the current edition of the PMBOK Guide, plus construction industry-specific standards and practices referenced in the ECO. This keeps your preparation matched to what PMI actually tests.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock assessments aligned to the 120-question, 230-minute closed-book format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Does the training meet the education prerequisite?

PMI-CP eligibility requires 35 contact hours of project management education. This instructor-led programme provides substantial contact hours; verify with our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading is credited toward the full 35-hour requirement.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-CP?

You must complete the four prerequisite modules plus one of three experience sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, all within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning preference across Cyprus.

How long is the certification valid and how do I renew it?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area, within the three-year cycle. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Can I reschedule my batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include the option to attend the training twice. Contact our support team to arrange this. See upcoming batches to plan your start.
