What is the PMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PMP worth it for project managers in Colombia?

Yes. In Colombia, PMP holders report a salary premium of 30% or more over non-certified peers, and employers in IT, banking, energy and infrastructure increasingly prefer the credential. As nearshoring and digital programmes scale, certified project leaders are in strong demand.

Is the PMP recognised in Colombia?

Yes. The PMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued across more than 200 countries, including by Colombian employers and multinationals in IT, financial services, energy, telecoms and infrastructure that run large project portfolios.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMP?

There are two paths. With a four-year degree you need 36 months of leading projects plus 35 contact hours of project management education. With a secondary school diploma you need 60 months of leading projects plus the same 35 contact hours, which this training provides.

How long is the PMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle and pay the renewal fee through PMI's continuing certification system.

What does PMP certification training in Colombia cost?

Training fees vary by format and are available on request, so ask for a quote based on live online, classroom or corporate delivery. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD and is not part of the training price. Talk to a learning advisor for current options.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, around USD 405 for members and USD 555 for non-members for reference. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and gives free access to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition. Verify current fees at pmi.org.

What is included in the PMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, the 35 contact hours needed for eligibility, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Request a quote for a full breakdown.

What is the format of the PMP exam?

The PMP is a closed-book exam based on the current PMP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition. It uses multiple question types, including multiple choice, multiple response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank, in realistic, scenario-based situations.

How many questions are on the PMP exam and how long is it?

The PMP exam has 180 questions and lasts 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes), including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. It is delivered online via Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What domains does the PMP exam cover?

The updated exam aligned to the 8th edition covers five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive, Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

What is the passing score for the PMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is determined through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement per domain, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

How many attempts do I get and can I retake the exam?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Confirm the current amounts on the PMI store before rebooking.

Where can I take the PMP exam in Colombia?

You can take the PMP exam online from home or office via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or the PMI portal once your application is approved.

What will I learn in the PMP training?

You will learn to plan, lead and control projects across predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, covering the five exam domains: fundamentals, predictive methods, agile frameworks, business analysis and strategic alignment, and stakeholder engagement, all mapped to the current exam.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can enrol in the training to build skills and earn the 35 contact hours. To sit the PMP exam, PMI requires project-leading experience and a degree or secondary diploma. Our trainers support learners at all levels with practical, guided instruction.

Which edition is the training based on?

The training is aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and the current PMP Examination Content Outline, so you prepare against the latest reference standard and the updated five-domain exam structure, including its dedicated agile and business analysis domains.

Will I get the 35 contact hours needed for the PMP?

Yes. The instructor-led training provides project management education you can put toward the 35 contact hours PMI requires for exam eligibility. You receive a course completion certificate documenting the hours earned.
