What is the PMI-RMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PMI-RMP worth it in Colombia?

Yes. Certified risk specialists are scarce in Colombia while banks, energy majors, infrastructure developers and consultancies actively hire them. Risk and Insurance Manager roles average around COP 88.5M a year, with Head of Risk bands far higher, so the credential offers a strong career and earnings return.

Is PMP required before the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite. You can apply for the PMI-RMP directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders carry both, as the two credentials complement each other.

How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle and pay PMI's renewal fee.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential it is recognised by employers worldwide, and it is especially valued in high-risk sectors such as banking, energy, construction and infrastructure where formal project risk management is expected.

What is included in the PMI-RMP training fee?

The fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours, practice questions, mock exams aligned to the 115-question format, application guidance and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing in Colombia.

How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam separately in USD under regional pricing, around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members for reference; confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and gives free access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Is the exam fee part of the training price?

No. The training fee and the PMI exam fee are separate. You pay PMI directly for the exam when you schedule it through Pearson VUE.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-RMP exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP?

There are three routes. Set A: a secondary diploma with 36 months of risk experience in the last 5 years and 40 hours of risk education. Set B: a bachelor's degree with 24 months and 30 hours. Set C: a GAC-accredited degree with 12 months and 30 hours.

What is the passing score, and how many attempts do I get?

PMI uses a psychometrically set passing standard rather than a fixed percentage, reporting your results by domain. You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam in Colombia?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE within your eligibility window.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You have up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period, and our practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance are built to help you pass. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-RMP training?

You learn to plan risk strategy, identify threats and opportunities, run qualitative and quantitative analysis, plan and implement responses, and monitor and close risks, all aligned to the PMI-RMP ECO and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires documented project risk management experience and risk education; our team helps you check your eligibility and prepare your application.

Is the courseware aligned to the current exam?

Yes. The courseware follows the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline, effective January 2022, and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, covering predictive, agile and hybrid risk approaches.

Does the training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

The 32-hour programme fully meets the 30-hour education requirement for Set B and Set C candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk management education.
