    What is the PMP certification?

    The PMP is PMI's flagship project management credential and is recognised in more than 200 countries. It validates your ability to lead projects and teams using predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, and is assessed against PMI's current Examination Content Outline, which is built on the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition.

    Who should take this project management credential?

    It suits experienced project managers, engineering and IT delivery leads, functional managers running project work, and PMO professionals who already lead projects and want a globally recognised credential. Agile practitioners who want to cover predictive and hybrid delivery also benefit.

    How long is the certification valid and how do I renew it?

    The credential is valid for three years. You renew it by earning 60 PDUs within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements programme, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each Talent Triangle area: Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen.

    Is the credential recognised by employers in China?

    Yes. Employers across technology, telecoms, construction, new energy manufacturing and financial services in China list it as preferred or required for senior project roles, and multinationals operating on the mainland use it as a common delivery standard.

    Pricing

    What is included in the training fee?

    Your fee covers instructor-led sessions, PMI aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams and exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application guidance and post-training support. Training fees vary by format and are available on request. Request a quote and a learning advisor will confirm your options.

    Is the exam fee included in the course price?

    No. PMI bills the exam fee separately and prices it in USD, with rates that vary by region. PMI members pay less than non-members, and membership also gives you access to the PMBOK Guide and the Agile Practice Guide. Confirm the current fee on pmi.org before you apply.

    How much does the certification cost in total?

    Your total cost is the training fee plus the PMI exam fee, and optionally PMI membership, which reduces the exam and renewal cost. Training is quoted on request in your preferred format, while PMI publishes current exam and membership rates on pmi.org.

    Do you offer group or corporate pricing in China?

    Yes. We offer volume-based pricing for corporate and group training, delivered onsite, live virtual or blended, with schedules built around your team's availability. Ask about corporate pricing and we will build a quote around your team size and delivery format.

    What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window, and a re-examination fee applies to the second and third attempts. Our trainers help you review your domain feedback and target weak areas, with practice tests and revision support included in your enrolment.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 180 questions and runs for 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes including two 10-minute scheduled breaks. It is closed book and uses multiple choice with single and multiple answers, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank questions.

    What domains does the exam cover and what are the weights?

    PMI's current Examination Content Outline has five domains: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (15%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (28%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (27%), Business Analysis and Strategic Management (18%), and Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (12%).

    What is the passing score?

    PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined psychometrically and reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    Where can I sit the exam in China?

    You can sit it at a Pearson VUE test centre or take it from home or office through Pearson VUE's OnVUE online proctored system. You schedule your exam through PMI's portal or Pearson VUE once your application is approved.

    Course Content

    Do I need prior experience to join the training?

    Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires either a four-year degree with 36 months of leading projects, or a secondary school qualification with 60 months of leading projects, plus 35 contact hours of project management education. Our trainers help you check your eligibility before you apply.

    What will I learn in the course?

    You cover all five performance domains PMI tests today: project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based delivery, agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, business analysis and strategic management, and stakeholder engagement and communication, with practical exercises throughout.

    Is the courseware aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition?

    Yes. The courseware follows PMI's current Examination Content Outline, which is based on the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, and also draws on the Agile Practice Guide for the agile and hybrid content.

    Are practice tests and mock exams included?

    Yes. You get chapter-wise quizzes, practice questions and full-length mock exams built on the real 180 question, 230 minute format, plus exam simulator access, so you can identify weak domains before exam day.

    Does the course cover agile as well as traditional methods?

    Yes, and heavily. Agile frameworks make up 27 percent of the current exam and predictive methods 28 percent, so you study Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP alongside critical path scheduling, earned value management and integrated change control.

    You can take instructor-led training online (live virtual), attend classroom sessions, or book customised corporate group training delivered onsite or blended. Sessions for learners in China are scheduled to fit local working hours.

    How do I apply to PMI for the exam?

    Create a PMI account, document your education and project leadership experience, and submit the application online. PMI reviews most applications within a few business days, and a random sample is audited. Once approved, you have one year to sit the exam.

    Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

    Yes. You can reschedule or move to a later batch, and selected plans include a Flexi Pass that lets you attend the training twice. Contact our support team and we will arrange it.
