Yes. EXIN operates in over 165 countries and BCS is the UK's chartered professional body for IT, so the credential is recognised internationally, including across China's technology, finance and consulting sectors that run large transformation programmes.

What standard is the certification based on?

Both levels are aligned to the BCS Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BCS BoK) and delivered against the official EXIN BCS Foundation and Practitioner Examination Specifications, which cover investigation, requirements, modelling, stakeholder management and business cases.

How long are the certifications valid?

Both the Foundation and Practitioner certifications are for lifetime. Neither credential expires, and no renewal, re-examination or continuing education is required to keep them.

What is the format of the two BA exams?

The Foundation exam has 40 single-answer multiple-choice questions, and the Practitioner exam has 40 scenario-based multiple-choice questions. Both are closed book and last 60 minutes. You must pass each exam separately to hold both credentials.

What is the passing score for the BA exams?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. The mark is the same for the Foundation and the Practitioner levels.

How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams: the EXIN BCS Foundation exam and the EXIN BCS Practitioner exam. The combined programme prepares you for both, and you sit and pass each one to earn the two credentials.

Do I need to pass Foundation before Practitioner?

The Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner level. The Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all, so beginners can start there and progress to Practitioner.

Where can I take the EXIN BCS BA exams?

You can take the exams online through EXIN's online proctored system or at an EXIN accredited testing location. Both are typically arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined package.

What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

You can re-sit the exam; verify the current re-sit policy and any fee with EXIN. Our training includes mock exams and structured guidance for both levels to help you prepare thoroughly before your first attempt.
