Do I need to buy Jira separately?

Jira is an Atlassian product. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users, which is useful for practice, while paid plans and Jira Data Center are commercial Atlassian products. Confirm software access arrangements with us before your session.

Is there an exam at the end of the Jira training?

No. Jira training is a non-certification course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout each level, so you build proficiency by doing.

What do I receive after completing the course?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. There is no external credential or awarding body, because Jira training is a practical skills course rather than a certification programme.

How are my skills assessed during training?

Skills are built and checked through practical exercises rather than a formal test. You follow the trainer in a live Jira environment, complete realistic tasks, and apply each feature as you learn it.

Do I need prior experience to join?

For Jira Fundamentals, no prior Jira experience is needed, though basic agile awareness helps. For Jira Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience.

Will the training reflect the current version of Jira?

Yes. Training is delivered on current Jira, primarily Jira Cloud, so you learn the interface, boards, JQL and automation as they work today. Confirm the environment used with us before your session.

Course Content

What topics does the Jira Fundamentals course cover?

Fundamentals covers navigating Jira, creating Scrum, Kanban and business projects, managing the issue hierarchy, running sprints and boards, using roadmaps and versions, and writing basic JQL to build velocity, burndown and cumulative flow reports.

What does the Jira Advanced course cover?

Advanced covers custom workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, DevOps integrations and Jira administration.

Will I learn Scrum and Kanban in Jira?

Yes. You learn to run Scrum delivery through backlogs, sprint planning and the Scrum board, and Kanban delivery through WIP limits, columns and the Kanban backlog, plus the reports that go with each approach.

Does the course cover JQL and reporting?

Yes. You learn Jira Query Language to search and filter work precisely, save shared filters, and build dashboards and Agile reports such as velocity, burndown and cumulative flow diagrams for team and management visibility.

Is the training hands-on or theory-based?

It is hands-on throughout. You work in a live Jira environment alongside the trainer, completing realistic agile delivery tasks so you can apply the skills on your own projects straight away.
