    Is the LSSBB certification worth it in Bermuda?

    Yes.     Who should take this certification?

    Do I need prerequisites or prior experience?

    No. There are no prerequisites for the Black Belt exam, no education or work experience requirement and no prior certification. Training and real-world project experience are recommended but optional, so motivated beginners can start too.

    How long is the certification valid?

    The certification holds 'Current' status for three years from the date you certify. To maintain it you pass the recertification exam before the elapse date or within 90 days after, keeping your credential active for another three years.

    How much does Black Belt training cost in Bermuda?

    No. The exam voucher is bought separately and billed in US dollars, with the price varying by region. Bermuda uses the Bermudian dollar at parity with the US dollar, so budgeting is straightforward.

    Exam

    What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

    The exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice paper of 150 questions. A reference document with all required formulas and tables is provided. Some forms include up to 15 additional unscored questions that do not count toward your result.

    How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

    You have four hours (240 minutes) to complete the 150 questions, with extra time available for non-native speakers. The passing score is 580 out of 750 points, so focus on broad mastery across all five DMAIC phases.

    How is the exam delivered?

    You can sit the exam through an online, web-based proctoring system available 24/7, or at one of thousands of Pearson VUE test centres worldwide. Bermuda candidates most often choose the convenient online proctored option.

    What is the exam application process?

    Purchase your exam voucher from the official IASSC ordering site, choose online proctored or a Pearson VUE centre, then schedule your session. An optional non-proctored evaluation exam lets you check readiness first. Our team can guide you through each step.

    How is the exam weighted across the domains?

    Questions are distributed across the five DMAIC phases: Define 13.5%, Measure 21.5%, Analyze 26.5%, Improve 16.5% and Control 22%. Analyze and Measure carry the most weight, so prioritise statistics and measurement system analysis.

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    You can prepare and retake the exam, and our mock exams, practice questions and trainer support are built to get you exam-ready the first time. Review the official retake policy when you purchase your voucher.

    Course Content

    What topics does the training cover?

    The programme covers all five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. You learn project definition, measurement system analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, designed experiments, statistical process control and Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban and Poka-Yoke.

    How is Black Belt different from Green Belt?

    Black Belt adds depth in advanced statistics, including hypothesis testing with normal and non-normal data, multiple regression, and full and fractional factorial designed experiments. You also learn to lead complex projects and mentor Green Belts.

    Are practice tests and mock exams included?

    Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams modelled on the 150-question, four-hour closed-book format, plus topic-wise exercises so you can find and close gaps before exam day.

    Is the courseware aligned to the latest body of knowledge?

    Yes. The content follows the current Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Body of Knowledge, structured around the DMAIC framework and the advanced statistical and Lean competencies expected at Black Belt level.

    What language and format is the training delivered in?

    Training is delivered in English through live virtual instructor-led sessions, with corporate and onsite options for teams in Bermuda. You receive courseware, exercises and recordings or post-training resources where available.

    What training formats are available?

    We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training and customised corporate group training for teams in Bermuda. Live virtual delivery lets you learn from home or the office around your work schedule.
