What Is Business Process Management?UntitledA Practical Discipline for Better Work

Business Process Management (BPM) is a structured discipline for identifying, modelling, analysing, designing and continuously improving the processes that run an organisation. This one-day, instructor-led BPM training in Bermuda teaches you to manage work end to end, from a customer trigger through to a measurable outcome, rather than in functional silos. You learn the full BPM lifecycle, model real processes using BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Model and Notation, the ISO/IEC 19510 standard maintained by the Object Management Group), and analyse them to remove waste and rework. The approach aligns with recognised frameworks including the ABPMP BPM Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK), ISO 9001:2015 and Lean and Six Sigma, so your skills transfer across insurance, banking and government employers on the island. Designed for business analysts, process owners and operations managers, the programme is hands-on and immediately useful. You leave able to document, analyse and redesign the processes you own, and you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning.

Why Process Skills Are in Demand Across Bermuda

    Digital Transformation in Financial Services

Bermuda's banks and insurers are digitising operations, but you cannot automate a broken or undocumented process. BPM gives teams the mapped, analysed processes that transformation depends on.

BPM training builds process modelling skills

    Regulatory and Compliance Pressure

Insurers and banks on the island operate under heavy regulation that demands clear, auditable processes. Documented, well-governed processes make compliance easier to demonstrate.

BPM builds documentation and governance skills

    Margin and Cost Efficiency

Margin pressure in reinsurance and cost discipline across financial services push organisations to optimise. BPM finds the waste, delay and rework that quietly inflate operating cost.

    BPM builds process optimisation skills

    Legacy Manual Processes

Many back-office processes still rely on manual handoffs and workarounds. Structured analysis and redesign remove the hidden factory of rework that slows service delivery.

BPM builds process analysis and redesign skills

    AI and Automation Adoption

As firms explore AI, digital identity and tokenisation, clean end-to-end processes come first. BPM readies workflows for BPMS and RPA so automation delivers real gains.

    BPM prepares processes for automation

    Scarce Process Improvement Talent

Bermuda has deep insurance and finance talent but few professionals skilled in end-to-end process management. BPM capability makes you rare and valuable in the local market.

BPM makes process-skilled professionals stand out

Bermuda's banks and insurers are digitising fast, and they need people who can design and improve the processes behind it. Build practical BPM skills and become the person who makes work flow better. Start today.

    Your Bermuda Process Transformation

    Where You Stand Today

    Your Shift to Process Leadership

Bermuda's banks and insurers are digitising and optimising operations, and employers increasingly separate people who can lead process improvement from those who only run tasks. Here is the shift BPM skills create.

    Today

You can deliver tasks, but struggle to show where time and cost are lost

    With BPM skills

You measure lead time, cycle time and first-pass yield to prove improvement

    Today

Automation stalls because processes are messy and undocumented

    With BPM skills

You prepare clean, mapped processes ready for workflow and RPA automation

    Today

You are seen as an operator, not a process leader

    With BPM skills

You own process design and governance and lead improvement initiatives

    You Build BPM Capability

    Before

Work managed in functional silos, with no end-to-end view of how value is delivered

    Now you have

A shared way to see and manage processes from customer trigger to outcome

    Before

Processes that live in people's heads and undocumented habits

    Now you have

Clear BPMN 2.0 models that anyone in the team can read and improve

    Before

Improvement efforts that are ad hoc and rarely stick

    Now you have

A structured lifecycle for finding, fixing and sustaining process gains

    Before

Limited recognition when you move between employers or sectors

    Now you have

Transferable, framework-aligned skills valued across Bermuda's employers

"The gap between running tasks and leading processes is a set of practical skills, and the organisations that are digitising already know it."

The Practical BPM Skills You Will BuildSkills You Apply the Next Day

In this hands-on programme you will learn to map, model, analyse, redesign, measure and govern business processes end to end. Each skill is grounded in the BPM lifecycle and reinforced with BPMN 2.0 modelling and process analysis exercises throughout the day.

    Map the End-To-End BPM Lifecycle

Work through all six phases of the BPM lifecycle, from identifying and modelling processes to analysing, designing, implementing and monitoring them, so you can manage any process as a continuous improvement loop rather than a one-off project.

    Model Processes Using BPMN 2.0

Turn a plain-language process description into a clear BPMN 2.0 swimlane diagram using events, gateways, tasks and lanes, the international notation (ISO/IEC 19510) that both business and IT stakeholders can read and act on.

    Analyse Processes to Remove Waste

Apply qualitative and quantitative analysis, value-added analysis and Lean waste categories to find bottlenecks, rework and delay, then build a clear business case for change grounded in time, cost and quality.

    Redesign Processes for Efficiency

Use redesign principles such as simplification, standardisation, automation and error-proofing to move a process from its current state to a leaner, faster and more reliable future-state design.

    Measure Process Performance

Define meaningful KPIs such as lead time, cycle time, first-pass yield and process efficiency, and set up dashboards and reviews that keep processes on track and surface the next improvement.

    Automate and Govern Processes

Understand how BPMS and RPA automate workflows, and establish process ownership and governance so improvements are sustained across the organisation rather than lost once a project ends.

    General

What is Business Process Management (BPM)?

Business process management is a structured discipline for identifying, modelling, analysing, improving and monitoring the processes that run an organisation. Who should attend BPM training in Bermuda?

The programme suits business analysts, process owners, operations and service delivery managers, IT and systems analysts, quality managers and change practitioners. Anyone responsible for designing, managing or improving business processes in any sector will benefit.

    Is BPM training worth it?

Yes. Process management skills are in demand across Bermuda's insurance, banking and government sectors, where digital transformation and cost pressure make well-designed processes essential. You leave able to document, analyse and improve the processes you own straight away.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

You will learn to map, model, analyse, redesign, measure and govern business processes end to end, using BPMN 2.0 notation and Lean waste analysis to remove bottlenecks and rework.

    How long is the course?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours), covering all six modules with concept explanations, BPMN modelling exercises, and process analysis and redesign workshops throughout.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You practise building BPMN 2.0 models from process descriptions, analysing processes for waste, and redesigning them using proven design principles, so the learning is practical rather than theoretical.

Is the course suitable for any industry?

Yes. Business process management applies across all sectors and functions, including insurance, banking, government, IT and operations, so the techniques transfer to any Bermuda employer.
