    Will this help me if I already hold a Six Sigma belt?

    Yes. DFSS and DMADV are the design counterpart to the DMAIC methodology taught in Green Belt and Black Belt training. It adds design-side capability so you can lead work that needs a new design, not just an improvement.

    Course Content

    What topics does the DFSS training cover?

    The programme covers DFSS foundations and the DMADV roadmap, the Define phase (VOC and Kano), Measure (CTQ flow-down and QFD), Analyse (concept selection and DFMEA), Design (robust design and DFMA), and Verify (design verification, validation and transfer).

    What tools will I learn to use?

    You practise Voice of the Customer capture, the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment, the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA with RPN, the P-diagram and robust design, and the design scorecard.

    How long is the training?

    The course is delivered in one day (about 8 hours), with concept explanations, real-world design examples and hands-on tool exercises throughout. A half-day over two days format is also possible.

    Is the training hands-on?

    Yes. You apply DFSS tools to realistic product and process design scenarios during the day, including VOC to CTQ flow-down, a QFD House of Quality, a Pugh matrix and a DFMEA worksheet.

    Can beginners take this course?

    Yes. There are no prerequisites and the course builds every DFSS tool from first principles, so professionals new to design-quality methods can follow along and apply the tools by the end of the day.
