    General

What is the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification?

The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is an entry-level certification that validates foundational knowledge of the DMAIC process improvement methodology. Awarded by IASSC, it confirms you can support improvement projects and understand core Lean and Six Sigma concepts.

Who should take the Yellow Belt course in Barbados?

It is ideal for front-line staff, team members, supervisors and professionals new to quality or operational excellence. In Barbados it suits people in tourism, banking, manufacturing and the public sector who want to support improvement work and build a foundation for Green Belt.

Is the Yellow Belt worth it in Barbados?

Yes. As tourism investment grows, business services expand and the island pursues its diversification goals, employers increasingly value staff who can reduce waste and raise quality. The credential helps you stand out for quality, operations and process improvement roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

Do I need experience or prerequisites?

No. There are no prerequisites for the Yellow Belt. Prior work experience and training are recommended but not required, which makes it a practical first credential for professionals new to process improvement.

    Pricing

How much does Yellow Belt training cost in Barbados?

Training fees in Barbados are quoted on request and vary by format, such as live online, classroom or self-paced. The course fee covers your training and study resources, while the exam voucher is purchased separately. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

    Exam

What is the format of the Yellow Belt exam?

The exam is a closed-book test made up of multiple-choice and true or false questions, based on the IASSC Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge across the five DMAIC phases. It can be taken online with proctoring or at an authorised test centre.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 60 questions and a total allotted time of two hours. Some exam forms may include up to six additional unscored pretest questions that do not count toward your result.

What score do I need to pass?

You need a minimum of 230 points out of 300 to pass. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases, so broad mastery across all five areas is the best approach.

How and where do I take the exam?

You can sit the exam through the online on-demand proctored system, available around the clock, or at an authorised Pearson VUE test centre. You choose the delivery mode when you purchase your exam voucher.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

If you do not pass, you can prepare further and retake the exam under the governing body's retake policy. Our training includes practice questions and mock tests to help you build readiness and pass with confidence.

Are practice tests and materials included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock tests and topic-wise quizzes aligned to the 60-question exam format, plus study materials to help you identify and strengthen weak areas.
