    The Black Belt exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice paper of 150 questions. Some forms include up to 15 additional unscored questions. A reference document with the required formulas and tables is provided for use during the exam.

    How long is the exam and how many questions does it have?

    You answer 150 multiple-choice questions in four hours (240 minutes). Non-native speakers and candidates with a disability may be allowed an additional 60 minutes to complete the exam.

    What is the passing score for the Black Belt exam?

    You need a minimum of 580 points out of 750 to pass. Each question carries equal weight, so aim for broad mastery across all five DMAIC phases rather than focusing on any single area.

    How is the Black Belt exam delivered?

    The exam is delivered online with 24/7 proctoring, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. You can sit it from home or office in Barbados, or at an authorised testing centre, whichever suits you.
