    Is there an exam for QFD training?

    No. This is a non-certification skills course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction, case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

    Do I receive a certificate after the training?

    You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. No external credential is awarded, because QFD is a vendor-neutral method with no governing body, but the skills apply immediately and do not expire.

    How are the skills assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead, you practise through Voice of the Customer structuring, Kano classification and full House of Quality construction exercises, so you can build and interpret QFD matrices confidently by the end of the day.

    What will I be able to do after completing the training?

    You will be able to capture and structure the Voice of the Customer, build a complete House of Quality, set engineering targets, resolve design conflicts, and cascade QFD through parts, process and production planning, including in DFSS and DMAIC projects.

    Is a completion record the same as a certification?

    No. A course completion record confirms you attended and completed the training; it is not a certification, and QFD has no external awarding body. The real value is the practical skill you can apply to product, service and quality projects straight away.

    Course Content

    What topics does the QFD course cover?

    The programme covers QFD principles and the Voice of the Customer, the affinity diagram and Kano model, full House of Quality construction across its six rooms, matrix interpretation, the four-phase QFD cascade, and QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design.

    How long is the QFD training?

    The course is delivered as a one-day, eight-hour programme, available as a full day or as two extended half-days. Hands-on House of Quality exercises run throughout, so the time is practical rather than lecture-heavy.

    Does the course apply to services and software, not just products?

    Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers its use in services such as healthcare and financial services, and in software, where user requirements are translated into architecture and test criteria. The House of Quality applies wherever customer needs drive design.

    Are practical exercises and materials included?

    Yes. You build your own House of Quality from a realistic scenario, work through Kano classification and column importance exercises, and take away templates and case studies to support your own QFD projects.

    What is the House of Quality?

    The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements (the WHATs) to measurable engineering characteristics (the HOWs) through a relationship matrix, adds a correlation roof for trade-offs, and sets engineering targets. The course teaches you to build and read it room by room.
