How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination delivered via Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or through OnVUE online proctoring.

What does the PfMP exam cover?

The exam is based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, across five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%).

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented portfolio experience and competency. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback such as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?
