How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. It is delivered via Pearson VUE, either at a test centre or through OnVUE online proctoring.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains: Strategic Alignment (25 per cent), Governance (20 per cent), Portfolio Performance (25 per cent), Portfolio Risk Management (14 per cent) and Communications Management (16 per cent).

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis and reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement per domain, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?
