What You Will Be Able to Do After TrainingPractical DMAIC and Lean Skills

This programme builds working knowledge across all five DMAIC phases at a foundational level, plus the core Lean tools improvement teams rely on. By the end you can join a project team and contribute with confidence.

    Run the DMAIC Improvement Cycle

What you will learn starts here: how to move a problem through Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. You will understand each phase and how Lean Six Sigma teams use it to deliver measurable, lasting results.

    Define Problems and Customer Needs

Frame a process problem with a project charter, capture the voice of the customer, identify critical to quality characteristics, and map a process using SIPOC so improvement work targets what truly matters.

    Measure Process Performance

Read core quality metrics such as DPU, DPMO, first time yield and cycle time, understand the cost of poor quality, and assess basic process capability so teams work from data rather than opinion.

    Analyse Variation and Root Causes

Use cause and effect diagrams, Pareto analysis and basic statistics to separate the vital few causes from the trivial many, building an evidence based picture of why a process underperforms.

    Apply Lean Waste Reduction Tools

Put core Lean tools to work, including 5S, value stream mapping, Kanban and Poka-Yoke, to remove the seven wastes and make everyday processes simpler, faster and more reliable.

    Sustain Improvements with Controls

Hold the gains using statistical process control, control charts and control plans, so improvements stick after a project ends and performance stays stable over time.

    DMAIC Finally Made Sense

"The Yellow Belt training finally made DMAIC click for me. Within weeks I was helping map a packaging process and spotting waste I had walked past for years. The trainer kept everything practical and tied to real shop floor examples."

    Beginner Friendly and Exam Ready

"As someone new to process improvement, I worried the statistics would be too much. The course built everything up step by step and the practice questions matched the IASSC exam closely. I passed first time and now contribute to our improvement team."

Practical Lean Tools I Use Daily

"The Lean tools section on 5S and value stream mapping was the most useful part for my daily work. I came away able to support our operations projects with real data rather than just opinions. Good pace and clear materials throughout."

    Shared Language Across the Team

"We put a full shift team through the Yellow Belt as a group. It gave everyone a shared improvement language, and our Green Belt led projects now move much faster because the team understands the method. Scheduling around our shifts was handled well."

How much does Yellow Belt training cost in Austria?

Training fees in Austria vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Live online and classroom options are quoted separately, and group rates apply for teams. Contact a learning advisor for a tailored quote in euros.

No. The exam voucher is purchased separately through IASSC and its price varies by region. Your training fee covers preparation, materials and support, while the exam is booked and paid for when you are ready to sit it.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the Yellow Belt exam the first time?

Our training is built to prepare you thoroughly with practice questions mapped to the real exam format, so most learners feel confident going in. If you need to resit, you can rebook the exam through IASSC, and our trainers can point you to the topics to revise.

What is the format of the Yellow Belt exam?

The exam is closed book with multiple choice and true or false questions based on the IASSC Yellow Belt Body of Knowledge across the five DMAIC phases. Some forms include a few additional non graded questions that do not affect your result.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 60 questions and an allotted time of two hours. Questions are spread roughly evenly across the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control phases, at a foundational awareness level.

What score do I need to pass the Yellow Belt exam?

You need a minimum of 230 points out of 300 to pass. Because every phase is tested, the best approach is broad familiarity across all five DMAIC phases rather than deep focus on any single area.

Where and how do I take the exam?

You can sit the exam through the IASSC web based, online proctored system available on demand, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Both options are available in Austria, so you can choose whichever suits you best.
