What Is Quality by Design and Why It Matters in PharmaUntitledA Science-Based Route to Built-In Quality

The Quality by Design (QbD) Training is a practical, one-day programme that teaches pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical professionals how to build quality into a product from the design stage rather than testing it in at the end. Rooted in the ICH Q8, Q9, Q10 and Q11 guidelines, it is the systematic, science-based approach that the FDA and EMA now expect as the foundation of modern development and manufacturing submissions. This Quality by Design training in Uruguay suits formulation scientists, analytical scientists, process development engineers, quality assurance teams and regulatory affairs (CMC) specialists working across Montevideo, Canelones and the country's free-zone pharmaceutical hubs. You learn the full QbD toolkit: the Quality Target Product Profile (QTPP), Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), risk assessment, Design of Experiments (DoE), the design space and the control strategy. As Uruguay strengthens its position as a regional pharma and biotech exporter, employers increasingly value people who can apply QbD to real development projects. Start your QbD journey with Invensis Learning and turn ICH-aligned theory into workplace capability.

No. The course has no formal prerequisites and introduces QbD from first principles in a pharmaceutical development context. Familiarity with pharmaceutical development or GMP is helpful but not required.

Yes. The training covers QbD principles for both small molecule drug products, such as tablets and injectables, and biopharmaceutical products, such as monoclonal antibodies and biosimilars, with case study examples from both.

    General

What is the Quality by Design Training?

The Quality by Design (QbD) Training is a one-day, non-certification programme that teaches the QbD approach to pharmaceutical product and process development. You learn the ICH Q8, Q9, Q10 and Q11 framework and tools such as QTPP, CQA identification, risk assessment, DoE, design space and control strategy.

Who should take this QbD training in Uruguay?

It suits formulation scientists, analytical scientists, process development engineers, quality assurance teams, regulatory affairs (CMC) specialists and technical managers in Uruguay's pharmaceutical, biopharma, API, CDMO and medical device organisations who want to apply QbD in development and manufacturing.

Is QbD worth learning for pharma professionals?

Yes. QbD is the science-based approach the FDA and EMA now expect in modern submissions, and Uruguay's exporters and biotech firms increasingly value it. The skill lets you build quality into products, strengthen dossiers and stand out in an ICH-aligned market.

Do I need prior QbD knowledge to attend?

No. The course has no formal prerequisites and introduces QbD from first principles in a pharmaceutical development context. Familiarity with pharmaceutical development or GMP is helpful but not required.

Is QbD relevant for both small molecule and biologic products?

Yes. The training covers QbD principles for both small molecule drug products, such as tablets and injectables, and biopharmaceutical products, such as monoclonal antibodies and biosimilars, with case study examples from both.

    Pricing

How much does the QbD training cost in Uruguay?

Pricing varies by delivery mode, group size and format, so the fee is available on request. The training includes instruction, hands-on QbD tool exercises, learning resources and a course completion certificate. Request a quote for current pricing and upcoming batches.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee covers instructor-led delivery of all six QbD modules, hands-on exercises in QTPP, CQA identification, risk assessment and design space, case study activities, learning materials and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for development, quality and regulatory teams. Talk to a learning advisor about a tailored quote for your organisation.

In what currency is the training priced?

Pricing for learners in Uruguay can be quoted to suit local requirements, and corporate quotes are tailored to your team size and delivery format. Contact us for current figures and payment options.

Are payment or instalment options available?

Yes. We accept common payment methods and can discuss instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the arrangement that suits you.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the QbD training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on QbD tool exercises, pharmaceutical case study examples and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive anything on completing the course?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. No formal credential is awarded by an external body, as this is a practical skills training programme rather than a certification course.

How is my learning assessed during the programme?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, hands-on exercises in QTPP construction, CQA identification, risk assessment and design-space interpretation let you apply QbD tools to realistic development scenarios throughout the day.

Will I be able to apply QbD at work afterwards?

Yes. After the programme you can construct a QTPP, lead CQA identification, facilitate Ishikawa and FMEA risk assessments, plan and interpret DoE, define a design space and develop a control strategy for regulatory submissions.

Is QbD knowledge time-limited or does it need renewal?

No renewal is needed. Because there is no certification to maintain, the QbD skills you learn are immediately applicable and do not expire. You apply them directly to your development and manufacturing projects.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the QbD training?

The programme covers QbD principles and the ICH Q8 to Q11 context, QTPP and CQAs, risk assessment with Ishikawa and FMEA, DoE and design space, PAT and control strategy, and QbD in practice through case studies, CTD submissions and lifecycle management.

Which ICH guidelines does the course align to?

It aligns to ICH Q8(R2) Pharmaceutical Development, ICH Q9 Quality Risk Management, ICH Q10 Pharmaceutical Quality System and ICH Q11 for drug substances, the guidelines that define the QbD approach expected by the FDA and EMA.

Does the course include hands-on QbD exercises?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day, including QTPP construction, CQA identification and criticality assessment, Ishikawa diagrams, a DoE design selection exercise and design-space interpretation, all applied to realistic pharmaceutical scenarios.

How is Design of Experiments covered?

The DoE module explains screening, response surface and mixture designs, how to run and analyse a QbD DoE, and how to interpret the model to define a design space with Normal Operating Ranges and Proven Acceptable Ranges.

How long is the QbD training and what format is it?

The programme is delivered in one day, roughly eight hours, covering all six QbD modules. It is available in classroom, live virtual instructor-led and corporate onsite formats to suit individuals and teams.

How do I enrol in the QbD course?

You can enrol through Invensis Learning. Choose your preferred format, complete registration, and you receive access to schedules, learning materials and trainer guidance. Talk to a learning advisor to see upcoming batches.

What delivery formats are available in Uruguay?

The course is available as classroom training, online (live virtual) instructor-led training, and corporate onsite sessions for teams across Montevideo, Canelones and the wider country, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule.

Can the course be delivered in-house for my team?

Yes. The programme is available as a corporate onsite option so a cross-functional team can train together and apply QbD tools to their own live product development projects during the session. Request a group quote to arrange this.

How soon can I start the training?

Public sessions run on a regular schedule and corporate sessions are arranged around your team's availability. Contact a learning advisor to see the next available dates and secure your place.

Can I reschedule my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule to another batch where needed. Contact our support team to arrange a transfer that suits your timetable.
