What do I receive on completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning that recognises your participation in the programme. The DFSS skills you build are immediately applicable to new product and process design work.

How is learning assessed during the training?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply DMADV tools such as VOC, CTQ flow-down, QFD, the Pugh matrix and DFMEA to realistic design scenarios throughout the day, so you practise each method as you learn it.

Is this a certification course?

No. This is a practical skills training course, not a certification. It focuses on building DFSS methodology and tool skills rather than preparing you for an examination, and no external body is involved.

Will the skills expire or need renewal?

No. The DMADV methodology and design tools you learn do not expire and require no renewal. Once you can run VOC, QFD, DFMEA and robust design, you can apply them to any new product or process design project.

What topics does the Design for Six Sigma course cover?

The course covers all six DMADV phases: DFSS foundations, the Define phase (VOC and Kano), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down and QFD), the Analyse phase (concept selection and DFMEA), the Design phase (robust design and DFMA) and the Verify phase (verification, validation and design transfer).

What tools will I practise in the training?

You will practise voice of the customer and Kano analysis, CTQ flow-down, the Quality Function Deployment House of Quality, the Pugh concept-selection matrix, Design FMEA with risk priority numbers, and robust-design tools such as the P-diagram and design scorecard.

How long is the Design for Six Sigma training?

The programme runs for one day, a total of eight hours, covering all six DMADV phases with concept explanations, real-world design examples and hands-on tool exercises. It can also be delivered as two half-days for teams.

Is the course suitable for beginners?

Yes. The course introduces DFSS and the DMADV methodology from first principles, so no prior DFSS experience is needed. Practical exercises and guided examples help beginners and experienced practitioners alike apply the tools.
