    Is there an exam for Lean Manufacturing Training?

    What do I receive on completing the training?

    You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It confirms you have completed the Lean manufacturing programme and the practical skills it covers. The training itself is vendor-neutral, so no external credential is awarded.

    How is my learning assessed during the course?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead you apply Lean tools to realistic production scenarios throughout the day, including a Gemba waste walk, 5S assessment, value stream mapping, OEE calculation and kanban sizing, so you practise the skills as you learn them.

    What will I be able to do after the training?

    You will be able to identify and quantify the eight wastes, read and build a value stream map, run a 5S programme, design a kanban pull system, calculate OEE, write standard work, apply SMED and lead Kaizen improvements on your shop floor.

    Is this the same as a Lean Six Sigma course?

    No. Lean Manufacturing Training focuses on the manufacturing Lean toolkit such as TPS, the eight wastes, VSM, 5S, kanban, TPM, OEE and SMED. Lean Six Sigma combines Lean with the Six Sigma DMAIC statistical method and is a broader, separate programme.

    What topics does the Lean Manufacturing course cover?

    The course covers six modules: TPS and the five Lean principles; the eight wastes (DOWNTIME); value stream mapping; 5S and visual management; pull systems, kanban, JIT and TPM; and standard work, SMED, Heijunka, poka yoke and Lean culture.

    Are there hands-on exercises or is it theory only?

    It is highly practical. You take part in a Gemba waste walk, a 5S workplace assessment, value stream mapping, an OEE calculation, kanban quantity sizing and standard work observation, applying each tool to realistic manufacturing scenarios.

    Does the course apply outside traditional manufacturing?

    Yes. While the focus is manufacturing, many tools such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping and waste elimination apply to logistics, food processing, packaging and other operations, so professionals from adjacent sectors also benefit.

    What materials are provided?

    You receive structured courseware covering all six modules, exercise materials for the hands-on activities, manufacturing case study examples and reference notes on the Lean tools, so you can keep applying them after the session.
