    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions across five risk management domains.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam?

The exam has 115 questions with a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

Five domains per the current ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results are reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass prepared and confident.

    Course Content

What will I learn in PMI-RMP training?

You will learn the full risk lifecycle: strategy and planning, identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, response planning, and monitoring and closing risks, applied to predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Does the training cover quantitative risk analysis?

Yes. You practise Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value, alongside qualitative tools such as the probability-impact matrix and risk register.

Can a beginner take this course?

The training is open to anyone, and content is built up step by step. However, PMI requires documented project risk management experience to sit the exam, so review the eligibility sets before you apply.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest exam?

Yes. The courseware follows PMI's current Examination Content Outline, effective January 2022, and the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

Does the training meet the education requirement?

The 32 contact hours fully meet the 30-hour education requirement for Set B and Set C candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk education.
